Exactly my thoughts - I think that the book is set in the near future when everything in the world is crumbling apart - hence the creepy night guards and Scout's TV comment.
In regards to Scout's character and the way the chapter's written - I admit that I was a bit confused when I found out who was talking: a new character we hadn't been introduced to before. But I
definitely don't think the whole book will be written in her point of view - after all, it's the last book, and will be the longest book he's ever written. That means it has to be epic! So I think he's going to switch around points of view either with each "section" of the book or with each chapter.
Anyway, enough serious talk.
I freaked out hardcore when I found out his plans for Oblivion. And the funny thing is I was in public - alone - when I read it on my Ipad and was trying SO hard to contain my excitement! hahaha, the people around must have thought I was completely insane.
I agree, I'm completely shocked at his pace of writing - 160,000 words in like.. what, a few months? He's nuts, completely and wonderfully nuts. And that's why we love him
