So in Boston a few centuries ago, they like, refused to... import some tea? the Sons of Liberty were involved in it...

(Reason I know - Frank Turner song, Sons of Liberty. and this relates to tea...)

It was because of the taxes damnit. The taxes that the East India Trading Company put on the tea were so high (and the Americans believed it violated their right to be taxed only by their elected officials) that the Americans refused to pay it. They didn't even want the tea unloaded, but some stupid governor refused to allow the ship to return to England with the tea, believing the protesters would concede and buy it anyway. But instead they crept on-board and destroyed all the tea.

And about the Cottesloe beach pylon, I know it's a landmark and remnant from the shark net at Cottesloe, but honestly I have no idea about the colours.

@r$eholes. It was also cheaper with the taxes and of better quality than the smuggled in tea. Basically, it was just an excuse.

Giving it to gypo

It was done by the TEA SMUGGLERS who where annoyed that the taxes on tea imports had been LOWERED. This meant they made less money and they were annoyed. The American war of independence wasn't about the fact that the British imposed large taxes on them (Americans got 3% of the rates that someone in the UK got), it was the fact that they COULD. They didn't like the fact that they were still being governed by people a long was away. I could go on, but Iam on an iPad...

The colors of the Cottesloe surf life saving club are black, yellow and white. The colours of the NORTH Cottesloesurf life saving club are blue and white. The pylon is at Cottesloe beach, but the horrible people at north cott come down in the middle of the night to paint it blue and white. Then, the cott people paint it back to black, yellow and white.
