there's a new agent 21 out: Agent 21 reloaded. more to the point of my original post, has anyone read The One That Got Away, it's a real book about Bravo Two Zero and Chris Ryan escaping Iraq to Syria. Andy McNab. Another author who was captured near the border also rights a couple of books about it

Actually, people who like Alex Rider may like anything that Kevin Brooks has written... they're usually somewhat detectivy... Martyn Pig, for example. Not sure. But just a suggestion...

There's a series of books called Power of 5. The writing style in them is very similar to that of Alex Rider.
I would recommend Tomorrow when the War began by John Marsden.
Also Andy McNab's Boy Soldier series and his DropZone books.

I'd say H.I.V.E. series is also very good. In a way similar to Artimis Fowl but also similar to AR in many ways ^__^

Maybe that's because AH wrote them
We had to read tomorrow when the war began for school last year...

I've read a taste of all of them and the only one I found somewhat interesting character and plot wise was the spy JASON STEED series. This kid is younger than Alex BUT he kills, he shoots bad guys dead, and he kicks serious butt. The writing is not as good as Horowitze's but I bet that this writer will not put up short stories in places that are hard to find. In addition ALEX VAN HELSING series is also well done as is NICK CHRONICLES, both about vampires and vampire slayers and both with a lot of action. All 3 series are amazing. Didn't care for CHERUB at all, nor the bionic boy series or the boring James Bond Jr series. Let's face it, none of them are going to be as good as Alex Rider.
I wonder if Horowitz will write about an adult Alex somedAy. My bet is yes.
