Did anyone else start reading through the book and come to a part where you thought something was going to happen, and it turned out it didn't? An example being, many people in Chapter 16 thought Smithers would die and he turned out to live.

* I thought at first that the kid in jail was Paul Drevin for some reason, although after I thought about it, it would make no sense for him to be in jail. But up until the moment it said Julius I still had the tiniest feeling it could be Paul!

* I also thought that at some point in the book, Julius would find out that Razim was double crossing him and would collaborate with Alex to take him down. That would've been a stretch I suppose.

* For a minute, I thought Kroll actually was going to succeed in quitting and maybe even taking the life of someone in Scorpia. I guess I underestimated how smart Kurst was!

I thought that maybe somebody from the school would help him, one of his friends. I didn't really think it for long, but we all knew his secret was compromised but one of them could have found out.

Really? I didn't figure because although he's DESCRIBED as popular be barely has any friends...But I thought for sure he'd be exposed too, only thing was I didn't care if he was or not, didn't seem a big deal to me.

Sort of, it would change his life a lot but I can't see it changing the plot very much so I didn't really care. {
Plus he moved anyway, not sure how worldwide his fame would have spread.

Errr... We're talking about a teenage SUPERSPY here!!!? At just thirteen- THIRTEEN!!! He became a spy. Then he went on to become THE MOST SUCCESSFUL SPY IN THE WORLD!!! It would be pasted on all the news channels throughout the world! A spy craze would come over the younger population, and the adults would be in hot debate. Alex Rider would be a worldwide celeb!!! An interesting past, with good looks and sportiness too!

You really think the government would let it spread all across the world? I think not. But it might spread further than they'd want it to. And actually, after hearing it, it would REDUCE the number of kids wanting and thinking spies are cool...unless they're mental!

From the way Julius escaped and the security man knowing that Alex had listened in to the conversation I'd expected a double agent high up in MI6 to be revealed.

Yes, but they wouldn't necessarily have to know the bad things about Alex, and they might think 'oh my god I really want to snowboard down a mountain! And use a gun! Oh! Oh! Oh! Use gadgets! I'd be a HERO!'
