It seems as if there are discussions about a possible "Point Blanc" movie.

AH tweeted this t'other day

Anthony Horowitz ‏@AnthonyHorowitz
Off to Los Angeles today. Alex Rider back on the screen? Oblivion? Lots of meetings so we'll see...

and then

@elliottrowe2010 (me) Well, there's nothing concrete yet. But if it happened I'd definitely move on...

and

@JGGardner1 Well, it's all a long way off. But if it happened it wouldn't be a remake!

...Oooh that's interesting, but I suppose I really should go see the first one  before getting excited for the next one! cheesy

Yes, I do agree with some people; Anthony Horowitz COULD potentially do a remake of Stormbreaker and start all over or he could drastically change the plot line( i.e. Sayle NEVER had a backup activation system for the Stormbreaker computers in the book), introductions of characters( like Sabina Pleasure for example; she was never introduced to us(readers) untill Point Blanc + IDK if this is true in the UK version, but it is HEROD SAYLE NOT DARRIUS SAYLE), fix some character identity "issues" ( like in the book, ALEX learned French, German, SPANISH(NOT JAPANESE, as said in the film adaptation) and have Mrs. Jones' hair to be longer and more wavier and carefree(although they got the color right), not stiff, short and in a reverse bob style). I also had expected the Stormbreaker computers to be bigger( I am referring to the ones seen in the classrooms in the film, NOT the one ALEX tries out at Sayle Enterprises) and to be more sophisticated(like a built-into-the-tabletop touchscreen keyboard and no mouse, the main screen is touchscreen). NOT to be so critical, (but at least me in particular) I BELIEVE that they(the ones who filmed the movie adaptation) had a little trouble executing the different aspects and angles of the story AND of executing the specific descriptions in the book and getting it onto the screen. They also had trouble with actually getting it as close to the original plot-line as written in the book as they can in the movie. BUT WITH NEW TECHNOLOGY COMING OUT EVERY DAY NOW, I THINK THEY COULD MAKE A COMEBACK AND PRODUCE THE GREATEST TEENAGE SPY MOVIE OF THE 21st CENTURY!

I  haven't seen it yet, but I have heard a lot of that kind of feedback. I hope AH can live up to our expectations!
Is there any info on when it's coming out?
Welcome, by the way smiley!!

Yeah, I agree with MI6OperativeAlexRider.  I think if they are going to make a movie they need to start over and fix the first one first.  They did mess up a lot of it.....  And they should really consider releasing it in the US because then they might actually make enough money to fund the rest of the series.  Whether AH likes us Americans or not there is a big market for movies here, and we actually have some good taste!

Hey! Another American?! I don't believe my eyes....  shocked  smiley

I agree, he missed a very big audience by not putting that first one out here. And if MI6OperativeAlexRider is right about the bad tech in the movie, I'm sure we could have had a big hand in that not happening.

You've seen it too, so can you also tell us what was good/bad about it?

Hi alexcub1!! Long time no see! How are things? Smiley

Movies would be good but they would have to be really careful not to wreck the story and try and not get to carried away with what they think will attract audiences.. That's if they wish to keep true to the books, which is I think what AH liked about the first Stormbreaker movie. However what might also be an idea for them would be to make them loosely based on the stories but have them as movies in their own right and different so that it would attract more people and some non AR fans, but also not disappoint existing fans too much.

But I think keeping the movies true to the books would be feasible - they did a pretty good job of it with the Harry Potter movies...

Yup, but it still shows a good ability to direct, etc.

I'm not sure how true this is but i did hear something about a point break movie.

I was under the impression that they had started work on one last year (2012) but i thought about the movie and tried to find out more,
i came across nothing. There is not even the slightest of glimpse on IMDB where most movie appear well in advance of release.

i would assume its safe to say the if there was any thoughts of another film that is well and truly dead, as well as it could be the same actor (Alex Pettyfer) would be way to old now id say.

Would have been great if they made it, too late now tho

They decided not to do another movie as they made a loss on the first one. Unless another studio picks it up and tries again...

Originally, Alex was to be played by different actors for each movie, a bit like the Bond movies if I remember correctly.
