Who would I be... If I'd never met Alex Rider?

I think it would work! I mean, Alex's missions supposedly make him look 'older' each time.

Since there is a slim to nothing chance that the movies would be made, who would be up for at least turning Yassen into a movie? It would be better than nothing, right? And if it was the Yassen novel I'm sure they could make it a little more adult-ish like maybe at least PG-13, I mean I know that makes him lose out on the younger fans but there's enough people on this website that are fans and I can't say I know anyone here who is less than 12...that I know of, and they'd be 13 by the time it came out.

NO. No Yassen movie please. I hate that charcter away from Alex. LIke Hook away from Peter Pan, he's not interesting at all. It' s only how he relates to Alex in teh books that make him interesting. IMO.

A movie series might want to start by adding something....very odd such as having Alex doused in a material that makes him and maybe some of his friends AGE SLOWER somehow?

Harry Potter's characters almost get away with it but by the last movie they look like they are 25 and it does't work really. In fact I'd say the Harry Potter movie while ratings successes are really not working quality wise. They're dull reallly and sillyl and far too depresing and with far too little action.

Alex Rider books would need something like a TV show wiith the quality afforded DOCTOR WHO (the new one) and/or stuff like GAME OF THRONES or CAMELOT and PRIMEVAL. OR borgias.

Still, actors get taller and age and even an Alex Rider tv show could not stop that so perhaps the timeline would have to change or the acxtor would have to be replaced soooner or later. I'd say in one tv season, all you could probably get to depending on how many eps there would be per season (some kid's shlows wetn to 60 or 70 episodes---YOUNG HERCULES and PETER PAN ADN THE PIRATES) in one season...is maybe the third book or if being very liberal the fifth book.

i STILL think the best book to make amovie out of is ARK ANGEL, it has everything: mystery, murder, several nasty villains, a scary hosptial scene, a sports arena, a large fire and escape via wire walking, gunfights, a high speed car race, an underwater sequence wiht a shark, bugs, gadgets, an above the surface water boat chase and fight, rockets, a space station, outer space, and more.

Problem with Ark Angel is most dans view it as the worst book in the series. Or at least near the bottom of the list. It's too farfetchd. Possible but a long shot. And Ark Angel alone wouldn't be able to be made as a standalone movie because no one would get in the beginning WHY he was in the hospital. So very few of the books could work as stand alone movies.

Yeah I know, (and I apologise for bringing up yet another Harry Potter reference) but if you look at the Harry Potter movies, If you had not read the books or watched them in order, then the same could be said for them not working as stand alone movies. Also in a potential Alex Rider movie, the characters are important to be familiar with, eg. It would help to know who Jack, Smithers, Blunt and Jones were if you were to watch a Scorpia Rising movie.

Exactly. The only book I see working is Scorpia. And even then, you would need to change the plot a tiny bit, so it could show the end of Eagle Strike so you know why this kid is going on this search anyway.

Very good quality cartoons COULD work. Has anyone ever watched Studio Ghilbi?

I really don't want more movies to be made. I'm not a big movie-watcher anyway, and when I watched Stormbreaker, I was very disappointed.

Yeah. I think Alex looked different in the movie than he was described in the book. And why in the world did they change Herod Sayle's first name to Darrius?!

More Alex Rider movies would be AWESOME!!!!
To me Eagle Strike would make the best movie, that was the best book.  After Eagle Strike and Scorpia, I kind of got bored.

But if they did all the books they'd have to keep changing actors so he'd stay 14, and that would be awful.

The only way it would work (possibly) with one actor, is if they did all the filming for all the movies at the same time.  At least three or four together, and then released them one at a time.  It would be a lot harder and busier maybe, but at least they would have the same Alex.  Sort of like when they filmed Lord of the Rings, they kind of filmed all three at the same time.  One scene in one movie one in another.  Then they could stick to the same Alex (hopefully)

I would hate it if it was like the James Bond movies with all the different guys.
