Who would I be... If I'd never met Alex Rider?

Yeah, but there is a WHOLE range of possibilities! And the CIA could EASILY approach him again!

I wouldn't call them possibilities seeing as there is pretty much no possibility, though.

Like I said before, if AH does not want to write any more books about Alex, he can always go to short stories. And it doesn't have to be about where he starts another life with the Pleasure family. It could easily be about the times inbetween each of his missions. There are some gaps between some of the books. It may not be filled with action or as exciting as what you may think it should be but the short stories are just as good as the books. I myself would like to see another Alex Rider book but in the end we must face the facts, AH has the final decision, not us.

Of course there could always be more short stories. I could see that. But he's already made the decision on novels.

What if he made a selection of short stories and published them all together, in a book?! Awesome.

Yeah, it could mix together (in order) SIGNIFICANT things in Alex's new life e.g. he overcomes bullying, or no longer has to have therapy!

Yeah the ending left a lot of unanswered questions, and that's a bit annoying for the last book. but who knows, maybe he'll right a another one except "Yassen."

I did'nt like the ending it was good beacause the bad guy was dead but alex wont be able to live with himself without thinking that it was his fault that jack died. That made the ending depressing.
Its good that he finaly gets a real chance of an ordinary life but still its leaves the reader depressed at the end i still cant get over jack.
THE WHOLE BOOK COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER

The fact that it was so depressing is why it was the best book. It wasn't quite as childish or unbelievable as the others. It was realistic and how things would actually work out in real life.

Yes, but while it may have made the ending more realistic, it was a bit harsh, and from a personal point of view, I found Jack's death and what happened later quite disturbing at the time. Looking back, however, I see your point, DON.

I think the way AH put it was " It was so unrealistic that Alex has lasted all these times without so much as anything bad happening, to him or anyone else (bar being shot) and there was only so many times he can get away with that."
We're actually lucky he didn't do something to Alex which would have been more realistic actually.
It didn't even have that annoying thing where the enemy always makes the mistake of keeping him alive a little longer and underestimating him, that was more realistic too. In fact, I can't remember any part in this book where he relied on luck like he did in the others.
I will give you the disturbing part, because although I don't find Jack's death or way of death very disturbing, the fact they made Alex watch was something so sick I didn't expect in the books. I liked it but I can see how that would be too far for some people.
I'm disappointed there wasn't more deaths. Harry Potter, while an inferior series in my opinion, did a great job of making the whole war scene realistic. As many good guys died as bad guys, like in real war. I think at least one more character should have died. Preferably Smithers or Blunt. Even Crawley maybe.
