Well, I'll write something ON topic here. The reason I don't like Sabina is that is seems that Anthony tried to force in a romance plot in a series that just doesn't work. If you're like me, when you read Alex Rider, you want to see him do cool spy stuff, not lounge around infatuated with a girl. And it's not Sabina's fault. I feel that this would be the case with any girl.

Horowitz said that one of the reasons he ended the series now is that he couldn't let Alex and Sabina's relationship become physical. And you can't just say "Well he wouldn't HAVE to make it become physical" because that would be unrealistic by today's standards. If he let Alex become 16 or 17 and been with his girlfriend for like 2 or 3 years and barely kisses her? Not exactly believable.

Ah. Well, perhaps it would be "cute," but I want to see Alex alone, without anybody to help him. I think it evokes the image of danger. That's why I wasn't too happy when Jack went along with him in Scorpia Rising. Even though Alex was still mainly on his own, it just didn't feel that way. That's why I think that having Sabina with him would simply induce too many romantic situations, and take away from the main plot and action of the bok.

The first time i told my sister about Sabina my sister just said that her name was stupid! thats it. not even when i talk to her about the Alex Rider characters and mention Sabina do i get a different reaction

That definition is pretty funny - do you think AH knew about it? Anyway, Sabrina would be too ordinary - Sabina as a name is quite unique, and 'exotically interesting'!
