And it would be very easy for Matt to come back from the dead.... at least, for one Matt too. Hey, he could do that to persuade everyone he's Jesus and so religions will follow him... at least, Christians will.... Mind, I'm not really feeling that theory. It's a bit weak.

Sapling died so there is no replacing Jamie. I think Matt will die to make a lasting impression. The traitor could be the one who dies. The rest of the Five could assassinate the traitor. There is a chance that Jamie will die because AH didn't say that there has to be a happy ending. And if Jamie dies then the Five cannot triumph against Chaos.

no.

I have explained this so many times!

Jamie dies. Then Sapling (FROM WHEN BEFORE HE DIES) comes back.

Maybe. It depends on how the process of the Past five taking future five's places works. And how stupid the Old Ones would have to be to take the bait. Sorry for not understanding before embarassed

I think it's a really interesting point about what happens if Jamie dies. I'd like to know if it would work so that regardless of whether one of them died they could still come back or whether if you're dead you're dead kind of thing.

It would make sense for sappling to be able to come to the future because at the end of the day all the old 5 are dead anyway, I mean they'd have had to have died at some point so it would make sense that Sappling would come to the future before his death in the past.

Also, and I can't fully remember, I need to read it again but didn't past Matt understand what was going on when Jamie came back to the past, suggesting that he was aware of the fact that the five can do this? Like I said I can't remember if this is the case or not.

I think Matt will be the one to die unfortunately because of his life book and past Matt knowing so much. It really sucks as we've known him from the start of the series.

Just a question for everyone. Do you think that the person who dies will be the traitor? and if not do you think the traitor will also die?

I think that if there is a traitor, he/she will definitely die. We saw in Nightrise (in the past) that the Old Ones do not spare the people who help them. I still think the one who's most likely to die is Matt, but I doubt he would betray the other four.

It is a very wild theory. You know the time travelling doors thing that was in the Oblivion discussion, if the doors can do that then the past five can travel to meet the future five. One of the past five could die. Another wild theory.
The end is supposed to be shocking so anything could happen.

It won't be. I already know what will happen.

at the end of the day all the old 5 are dead anyway

Or are they? What if they had never died? Or what if the doors send the five BACK in time?

It's really hard to watch someone you've become attached to die in the books.  It makes you not want to read the next one.  That's why I don't really want any of the five to die, cause I've become attached to all of them and it would be a shame if any one of them died.

I absolutely agree. However, if any one (or more) HAD to die, I would prefer for Scott to die than the others. It's not that I don't like Scott or anything (in fact, I think he's really AMAZING), but just that he might be turned against the other four of the Five, which would be terrible. Anyway, Sapling died in the past, so Jamie CAN'T die (it's not fair for him to die twice even if Sapling can come back and the circle will not be broken), and Matt SHOULDN'T die (I mean, he's really great), DEFINITELY not Scarlett, Pedro, don't think so, so Scott should die. After all, Sapling died, so this time his future twin, Scott, should die . They even have the same initials! (okay, I'm just plain rambling here...)
