In response to the old topic...
Most architects are complete weirdo's...hopefully you will change that AR:A. How many years is it over there? In Australia Architecture is a 7 year thing...
ooo! This is 50 pages now! I'll hop along and make a new one...
EDIT: new topic can be found here:
http://anthonyhorowitz.com/msgboard/index.php/topic,5309.0.htmlYeah a lot of architects are crazy. And they all think that they are the greatest architect in the world and that we should all bow down to their superior architectural intellect. (Note: this includes a lot of architecture professors, many of whom have always been a professor and not actually done any
real architecture.) It's kind of funny because my sister is an engineer and even she says the same thing from barely being around them and from having an architectural engineer as a professor once. Some of them are normal though. I try to stay pretty normal (well, normal for me anyways

). But I can already see signs of where some of my fellow students are turning into the description above. And it's 6 years here. It's split into 4 years, then 2 additional years. I'm already 1 and 1/2 years through it though so hopefully I can survive it.
too much math involved in archtecture for me to like it
You know, everyone says that and I thought it would be a lot too (but I didn't care because I like math), but it's actually not very much at all. I was done with math after 1 semester of college. It's mostly artsy. Most universities are split into separate 'colleges' based on the general subject of your major (College of Engineering, College of Nursing, College of Agriculture, etc.) and we're in the College of Design. We are definitely more serious and challenging than the other majors in the College of Design though. We once saw one of the interior design projects hanging up and laughed at it for about a week. It had cupcakes in the title and something about a dragon in one of the pictures. Definitely not appropriate for a college level project. Unless the assignment was to draw a dragon eating a cupcake or something (which it wasn't).
