I's completely forgot that quote! With that, he could be evil. I don't want him to be evil though!
He isn't in the books very much, this is true, but it is obvious that he is important. Wait, has he been in all the books?

He's been in every book by mention of his name but not appearing. And I think they need to actually appear for it to count. But maybe not. Maybe that's what AH wants us to think.

Quote
One character who has been in all eight previous books will die.
Anthony Horowitz's words. It doesn't say that the character actually had to appear.

Yeah "been in" makes you think "appear" though but maybe he worded it that way on purpose. If he did, that opens up a few new possibilities. Actually... no it doesn't, only Crawley. Tom and Sabina weren't even mentioned until book 3 and 5. So Crawley is possible but less likely than the others.

True. I's think it will most likely be Jack, but Crowley is a possibility.

You made a mistake and called him Crowley

Oops! Sorry! There's a character in Ranger's Apprentice called Crowley and I keep getting them mixed up!

He could be. He's been sooo unimportant up until now, it'd be kind of strange to get used to him being there as much as some of the other characters if it does turn out he is really important.

I don't know he seemed like such a boring character (so far nothing has happened with him much!), but i suppose it's possible. Even if just for the reason of making him a more interesting Character!

He HAS to be important. Or I can't see why AH would've bothered to bring up Crawley's past. Something else...when Crawley was telling Alex about his past with Scorpia, the first thing he said was " I knew your father...I wasn't allowed to tell you that before." Why wasn't he allowed to tell him, and more importantly, what happened to make it okay to tell Alex now? Him getting shot?

I think the difference was that Alex had found out about his father (being a double agent) so it was alright to mention him. That's quite an interesting question though... Maybe we'll find out in Scorpia Rising!

So Scorpia Rising has come and gone and still nothing about Crawley. And I don't believe he was just an unimportant filler character, or why would AH drop hints of that magnitude for no reason? I'm thinking maybe he had a plot involving him and decided against it. I'll know when the new interview with him comes out but until then, anyone guess what the answer might be?
