He wasn't a dirty traitor at all. You can think you wouldn't have done the same thing but you wouldn't know unless it happened and I bet 90% and higher of people would. It's human nature to care for your own life more than others, nothing wrong with it. It'd be different if they weren't going to die either way but since they were, I wouldn't care, even if I was Alex and it was my parents.

Who would I be... If I'd never met Alex Rider?

I think Ash WAS a traitor because its all his fault that Alex is a spy and had his life wrecked! Why didnt he just stay and do his boring job or whatever at mi6? Ash joins Scorpia just because hes bored of not being allowed 2 go out in the field! It wasnt Johns fault that that happened either

No, it isn't his fault Alex is a spy. John and Helen would have died anyway, and the same thing would have happened no matter what. In no way is it his fault. Yes, it was bad to kill your friends and to do it yourself, but it wouldn't have turned out any differently if he didn't kill them.

I know, but he's responsible for their deaths! I know they would hae died anyway but that doesn't mean it was right for him to kill them!

It's not right but you can't view everything in black and white, after all John probably would have done the same if their positions were reversed. Anyway this is supposed to be about Yassen guys! Get back on topic!
Discuss this in the Ash topic if you want.

Actually, he could still be alive. Nothing was said as to what happened to his body. But I would have sworn I heard AH say that he wouldn't bring Yassen back?

Yeah, he will not bring Yassen back. Especially with the Yassen book coming out.

As cool as it might be for Yassen to come back, think about it. When a character dies for another character and then is actually found alive, it kind of ruins it. It takes the sacrifice out of it. You'd think if you truly liked Yassen you'd want him to stay dead for that reason.

No, because he sacrificed himself and maybe he survived and he didn't know he was going to survive, which still has the sacrifice in it. Also, I think if Alex and Yassen had a sort of Fatherly relationship, it would be nice for Alex. Can't he have some joy in his life for once? Yassen would be the only one, probably, who is REALLY able to understand. Then there could be this scene with MI6 but Yassen comes through and gets back with Alex in the end...

It's still sacrifice but it's no where NEAR as much sacrifice. That;'s just saving someone. Big difference between sacrifice and saving someone. Plus Yassen didn't really sacrifice anyway, he didn't know he was going to be shot for refusing. You could argue that he wouldn't kill Alex but no where has it show he would be willing to go as far as die for him. He did, but not on purpose.

YES he did. He says he didn't kill children but he blew up the house Sabin'a's father was in...and set Alex up in the bull fight...he killed many other people and almost took part in the end of the world as we knew it. Oh and he's not the best character IMO: Alex is
