No i dont think he deserved to die. You can tell he has a heart beacause of his action against killing children. Even though he blew up sabrinas house and injured her father in the making, he still has a heart. Give him a break he needs a well paying job, he found even though it isnt the best of jobs but its a job.  He was great friends with alexes dad aswell and could have given alex more information on his father. So yeah no hes seems like a pretty cool guy if ya ask me. With a slight sence of humour. smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley wink

Who would I be... If I'd never met Alex Rider?

I liked him but I found him quite serious. I think he might have had dreams of glory. I mean, because he talked about Alex dying in the ring heroically and gloriously.

Yeah I think it was sad that Yassen had to die.  Just as you start to get a better idea of his character.  You get the feeling that Yassen understood Alex better than anyone else, because he was able to predict what Alex was going to do.

It seems that Yassen gets too much sympathy on this forum. Sure, he didn't kill children. But the truth was, he was an assassin, and performed evil deeds. Yes, he deserved to die, in my opinion.

Yassen was AWESOME, best character of the book!  He so did not deserve to die.  He was like the best character (besides Alex), he was like Alex's long lost Uncle or Godfather.

i agree that he didn't deserve to die but, i don't think the story line would've worked out well if he remained alive. they would be too much questions remaining if he continued to live, like what happened to him afterwards the SCORPIA collapsed.

Yassen was the most awesome character, but i definately think he deserved to die.
1. He killed a guy in Stormbreaker for dropping a box
2. He became a professional assassin (killed more people)
3. He became an assassin to earn money for his retirement. Seriously, dude. If we all killed people for a living, imagine how the          world would turn out to be??

He deserved to die because he killed so many people!!

Oh, and by the way, the title is a spoiler

He killed everyone he did for logical reasons.

1. If the guy had dropped another box, they'd probably all be dead.
2. He grew up in harsh circumstances, no doubt.
3. He probably couldn't think of another way to make money.  Plus once your in as an assassin you can't get out alive. (not that he did anyway)

Sorry, I can't help but see everything from Yassen's side of things. cheesy
I still don't think he deserved to die.

If Yassen decided to stand up against Herod and report him for trying to kill English schoolchildren, he wouldn't have had to kill anyone.

Personally, I don't think killing people to earn money for a living isn't right.

Sure, he may have had a difficult childhood, but every single person in the world has moral instinct, where they know the difference between right and wrong, good and bad. That sort of stuff doesn't have to be learned.

There IS NO EXCUSE to kill a person. Whether someone has the right to live or die wasn't up to Yassen to decide.

yeah, you're right, he didn't have to kill anybody.

*sigh* I'm hopeless, I still don't think he deserved to die, he was too interesting of a character.

It's a HUGE spoiler for people who havn't read the book yet!

Probably change it to 'Yassen' or 'did he deserve to die?'
