@ isabelle haha like your avvy!
I think that losing his old life has been Alex's worst torture really. Knowing that there was a life he could have lived that didn't involve spies and psychos.

Lol. We're all obsessed with the really good book characters. I guess it's in our nature.

I like the AR books because of the sense of mortality. One slip up, and the guy is gone. Alex has never really been physically tortured, has he?

nope I think so far it has all been mental personally I might prefer the physical cos the pain goes away ..the mental stays there and drives you nuts >.<

Stop saying you prefer it.... it's weird... I agree that mental is more damaging and also more angsty and, you know, all that. But it's not preferable, because that sounds like you'd want it...

Although I reckon for an author it's harder to write psychological torture...

With Scott you don't really see the actual torture, though.... just the after effects.... but yeah, AH is one of the few authors I know who actually tackle the actual torture. Kudos to him.

yeah but strangly I asked my friend which she found worse quite surprisingly she chose physical ! she said she cant stand it but I guess we've never experienced both that badly so we cant really choose properly

I agree that mental torture would be worse, because as Kaurageous_rocks so brilliantly put physical pain can go away, but mental stuff stays with you for life and drives you up a wall. I really do feel bad for Alex because he'll never have a normal life now, and now he knows that he never really had one to begin with.

It's so UNFAIR!!! Why him...? I'd like to have some physical torture in the books, though.

@Silverdragon yeah I guess its true he'll live the most abnormal life, but I guess thats the way life is right? (ironic much ) @Rider rules : Physical torture would be good but I think its cos it is not for adults that there isnt much. IT would be interesting to see Alex respond to physical torture we dont know it he cant stand up to it...do we? He's gotten find with mental but physical is a whole new matter. He might disagree with us and say that physical is worse by now ^.^
