Shooting is fine, maybe getting stabbed... but I agree it has to be exciting not stomach turning.

its like simulated drowning, your strapped down and you have like gallons and gallons of water poured over your head so you feell like your drowning while your not actually drowning.

nahh anybody can regrow skin and recooperate from that. from a plot perspective the torture that'd mess with Alex's head would be the best

I think mental torture is better than physical torture. If you get shot or stabbed, it'll not only torture you physically with pain, it'll give you a horrible fright of what happened. So why not simulated drowning? It'll serve as a good warning to Alex to watch out and NOT DROWN. smiley
