...and then Alex pretty much killed him. Not a very good way to repay him.Plus Yassen was part of the reason his parents are dead! I would be mad about that too!

No, I'm pretty sure Yassen didn't contribute to John and Helen Rider's death- he LOVED John, remember? As for Ian, Yassen may not have known. It's ironic... John trained Yassen and Yassen used the skills he'd learnt from John to kill Ian...

Well, Yassen continued to be part of the organization who did kill his parents. But there's evidence to suggest Yassen still didn't know John was a spy all along, even at the time of his death. He died thinking John was still with Scorpia. Or lied.
