They would be ok, but if you wore the baggy jeans, you would notice if they were hi tops or not anyway

Okay then, so I'll wear those shoes =D
Okay, I HAVE BEEN working on this costume, seriously! As proof, here are some photos. (okay, so no items of clothing have been purchased yet, I NEED MONEY).
I have bought a binder... which basically flattens my chest so cosplaying a male (or a flat chested girl) is more accurate.
Before:

(poor photos, didn't realsie there was self timer button).
After:
http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll38/Renos-fangirl247/IMG_0699.jpg
(poor photo again... I found the self timer but I forgot that this one focuses differently to my old one so I'm a little blurred)
I've also doen a makeup test. Yeah... I can hear you all going, "But you're cosplaying a dude, why do you need makeup?" and my answer is... TOO LOOK MORE MANLY! Uuhm yeah... basically, the before is either of the above photos and after is:
http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll38/Renos-fangirl247/IMG_0714.jpg
There is a difference. I put on a little brown eyeliner to change the shape of my eyes. I thickened my eyebrows. I used some foundation to make my cheekbones stand out. I also paled my lips a little. It doesn't look great yet becuase all of my makeup is very cheap, but I should be able ot make it look better with better amkeup that actually stays on my face xD
(please excuse the goofy smile)

Looks great! Now, cut off all your hair and grow a beard.

Progress: Wig and Makeup and Binder
http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll38/Renos-fangirl247/IMG_8507copy.jpg
(close up)
Will probably cut the wig a little.... but I never saw Matt as having very neat hair. Is it coming along okay? ^^

It looks awesome...
Do cut the wig, and maybe add some freckles to the face (only a couple tho).
Otherwise, its looking brilliant!

Really great job
That is exactly what I think Matt looks like, but as Pedro-ologist posted the hair needs to be a bit shorter.
I do also agree with you that Matt never seemed to be the neat hair type.
I think it's coming along wonderfully. You have such a cool hobby

Also, what pants and shirt are you wearing?
And are you still doing the fake and frayed and messy converse for shoes???

I haven't decided on a shirt yet. I'm probably gonna go for a reddish brown or blue (I need blue for another costume
) and if I can find one cheap enough, a grey hoodie. Obviously, I'll do some with and without the hoodie.
As for trousers (or pants xD), I own a pair of loose, baggy light blue jeans with rips in them. It's just cheaper than buying another pair. I'm gonna see how well they go with the tops.
And I'm still going for the messy converse-rip-off look for the shoes, I need to mess them up a little more (I was unwilling to... since they are still my shoes, but I own another neater pair now so I'm up for it).
The photoshoot will be sometime next month. I'm gonna ask my photographer if we can do one in centeral London (or osmewhere urbanny within London) and a woodland area. I'll probably wear the hoodie in London and the T-shirt in the woodland. I just hope it won't rain xD

I'm gonna check Primark tomorrow and see what they have, and the charity shops ^^
My friend has also bought me something for the costume, but it's a surprise (you'll see... I just had to do it... all in good time though).
Here is the cut wig and a no flash picture (see, we now have freckles 8D)

(no direct for this one.... it had to be SERIOUSLY sharpened and it looks.... weird xD)

..... Dunno how I'd get pimples (apart from the... errrr, obvious way xD I can't rely on that though) for it. And I am wearing foundation, but infortuantly, I kind of need to if my face is gonna be boyish (basically, I pale out one section and darkern others to give my face a different -boyish- face, but it only works if I wear foundation).
if I have any spots... I could just avoid covering them up or something xD Other than that I'm not sure.
Oh yeah... very close up you can still see my natural freckles, so yay! 8D
