HAHAHA  It's an Aus/NZ name for an English person. I get that aaaaall the time (Im English and live in New Zealand)... Most people think it comes from Prisoner of Her Majesty (PoHM) but that's not actually true - it was the name the natives called the English when they arrived in Australia, I think... because they go red in the sun - like a pomegranate. LOOL. But yeah. It can be rather derogatory, but mostly it's just a word for a Brit. XD |

An Aussie or New Zealand word for an English person becuase they go red in the heat. Alex is English and Dr Tanner is Australian, so to him Alex is a 'pom'.

I'm more surprised by the fact that some people didn't know what a pom was. I call one of my friends a pom all the time, since her dad is British and she identifies more as British herself. She even has duel citizenship, the lucky thing.
