I'm seeing it Wednesday... It's so funny. This past week in school, everyone in my group at school is trying to read the trilogy... I feel so cool for having read them all (except for the other half of Mockingjay) much earlier than the rest of them...

Yeah I think they tried o downplay the violence/gore to keep it PG - I mean it isn't hard to get to M - even harry potter is!

No, but the Hunger Games was a 12(A?). The Green Hornet was 12, yet it had more violence than The Hunger Games; you saw this guy get shot and everything.

To be fair the latter harry potter movies got really dark. Also, Australia is really antsy about the whole classifications thing.

Yes, I suppose they did... But still...
And you are totally right about the whole Australia classification thing - we had to get notes signed to watch Troy (R) and Braveheart (MA)
for history - I mean Braveheart was worse in my opinion than Troy for gore and whatnot, but they still gave Troy an R rating, when it had nothing in it that was worse than many M movies I have watched!

Really? I always thought Troy was MA. I may be getting confused though.

I do like we have in between ratings though. Rather than just PG then jumping to 18+

I thought Troy was MA...

I think that the Aussie classifications system is pretty good. Also, hunger games was M, and they downplayed the violence because getting a MA equivalent rating in the US is bad for revenue...

Over here, we have:
U (universal)
PG (parental guidance)
12A (12 accompanied by adult)
12
15
18

I think they also have some inbetween, but those are the main ones.

So I was sitting down to watch the new Tintin movie when I saw this and my jaw fell off because there are two of my favourite writers.

Then I saw this, and had to change my pants.

EDIT// ALSO SIMON PEGG AND NICK FROST ARE THOMPSON AND THOMSON. HOW HAVE I NOT WATCHED THIS BEFORE NOW?

Also We have: G (General), PG(Parental guidance recommended for viewers under the age of 15), M (Recommended for Mature audiences) , MA15+ (Not suitable for people under 15. Under 15s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian) , R18+ (Restricted to 18 or Over)
