Yes, once you've read it, post a little spiel of what you thought of it in Rocket's classics topic

Ouch, Great Expectations? I confess, I approached that book with high
Expectations
(which were
Great
ly blown up)
Okay. I could appreciate it was good literature and had lots of messages about morals and such. And I do hope one day I could read it and love it and want to read it again and again. And I don't dislike Dickens, but I prefer
A Tale of Two Cities
. And, on the whole, prefer other classic authors.
Hardy. I would recommend him over Dickens.
Although. Anyone into poetry? Do we even have a poetry page? Well, I'll recommend some here anyway.
The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock
by TS Eliot is the best poem I've ever read. And is lots of fun to pick apart. And
The Hollow Men
by Eliot too, it's got the well known quotation "This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang but with a whimper".

Oh, I adore The Hollow Men. It's probably my favourite thing by T.S Eliot.
Though, I very much have a soft spot for everything in his Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats. They're just adorable little poems and I love them to pieces.

oooh, I agree. And on cute poems, I absolutely adore Roald Dahl's
The Rowing Song
. It's WONDERFUL.

Hey i know you don't want depressing story but...........i really think its interesting that you wouldn't mind it being a little sad
Book: Wither: book one of the chemical garden
Author: Lauren DeStefano
Description: A Handmaid?s Tale for a new generation?
Sixteen-year-old Rhine Ellery has only four years left to live when she is kidnapped by the Gatherers and forced into a polygamous marriage. Now she has one purpose: to escape, find her twin brother, and go home ? before her time runs out forever.
What if you knew exactly when you would die?
Thanks to modern science, every human being has become a ticking genetic time bomb ? males only live to age twenty-five and females only live to age twenty. In this bleak landscape, young girls are kidnapped and forced into polygamous marriages to keep the population from dying out.
When sixteen-year-old Rhine Ellery is taken by the Gatherers to become a bride, she enters a world of wealth and privilege. Despite her husband Linden?s genuine love for her, and a tenuous trust among her sister wives, Rhine has one purpose: to escape ? to find her twin brother and go home.
But Rhine has more to contend with than losing her freedom. Linden?s eccentric father is bent on finding an antidote to the genetic virus that is getting closer to taking his son, even if it means collecting corpses in order to test his experiments. With the help of Gabriel, a servant she trusts, Rhine attempts to break free, in the limited time she has left.
Its not much of a romance story but it does get a bit sappy soon (i think....i have yet to read the second book) enjoy

Get going, then! You can only judge when they're ALL done.
Speaking of book recommendations... I'm reading a Song of Ice and Fire these days (known as Game of Thrones to those who watch the TV show) and it's quite good. I wouldn't recommend it to younger members because it's a bit mature (and gross, NGL) but the plot's quite interesting... I'm in A Dance With Dragons now, so hopefully I'll finish them all soon and spoiler you all with it until the next comes out.
Although, can I just say, it was a really really really bad idea to start a series where each book is about 1000-pages when I have RIDICULOUS amounts of work coming up?
