I'd rather George Weasley over Alex Rider. But Alex over everyone else, I think.

OH YES. <3 Weaaassleey!

The Potter thread has died methinks.

Anyway. New books. Anyone read The Savage Detectives by Roberto Bolano?

What does George Weasley look like?

Ginger with freckles, one ear, and stocky but still fairly tall... Generally smiling, I guess, and laughs and jokes around a lot. Actor who plays him isn't quite like what I think he should be, but fairly good... Oliver Phelps...

Pretty jealous. Hellishly jealous.

What was it like? Get any pictures? Where was it?

It was pretty cool. They were on a break or something and I saw them and said 'hi' and then ran away because I was scared I would get too fangirlish.

I saw them at a convention I went to, called Supanova. They were doing autographs and stuff, but I didn't get any.

Will! Will Herondale! Or Jon Snow :3

Urgh, I could never do Jon Snow... (er, that came out wrong. Could never 'choose' Jon Snow. Yeah.) But, like, first of all, HE COMES WITH MAJOR BAGGAGE. All the celibacy and drama and Commandering and the crazy dead ex-girlfriend. I like Jon and everything, but it would be too difficult.

I think ANY male character from ANY Cassandra Clare book would do. Save for Valentine, Nate, Sebastian and Hodge. But seriously. I've got soft spots for Jace, Simon, Will, Jem, Alec (...), and Magnus.

Alex 5ever. I love Harry and everything, but he's a terrible boyfriend and his girlfriends are all boring. I fancy myself unboring, so I'll go with Alex (a little bit older. And like a fine wine, Alex only gets more badass with age.)

Mind, you know who I wouldn't like as a boyfriend? Eragon. I'll be dead before we go on our first date, for starters, seeing as it would take him about a hundred years or so.

Oh ewh. Seriously, Eragon wouldn't even count. None of the Twilight boys either. Rushton, from Obernewtyn definitely. OMG PERCY JACKSON <3 Would so. If he were older, obviously. And Nat from Bartimaeus trilogy.

I'm on the fence on Nathan. He certainly earns my respect by the end of the trilogy, but... I don't know. I'd enjoy winding him up way too much...

Oooooooh, I'd not mind Artemis Fowl, either. A little older obviously (let's just make this a prerequisite for everyone mentioned here), but I think he would be really fun, in an obnoxious sort of way.

From the Po5 books as well... I think Matt's pretty awesome. Not as awesome as Alex (I still think Alex just tops everyone in life) but you know, he'd do.

Oooh yes I wouldn't mind Matt. Or Percy. Percy is around my age so it's okay.

You know, I'm curious, when did the Book Recommendations thread become the My Fictional Boyfriend thread?

...Actually I'm tempted to start a topic just for these shenanigans. They're too funny to shut down.

Anyway. BOT.

BUMP

Perks of being a Wallflower anyone?

There's going to be a movie with Logan Lerman in it.

I have read it. It's a depressing book. Slightly. And not suitable for under 13's.

Hey, has anyone read Shakespeare? It's pretty cool once you can understand it. Reading Hamlet on my friend's recommendation.

ALSO! 'The True Story of the D-Day Spies' by Ben McIntyre!!!! Expensive, though... MI6 only released the files recently.
