Actually, the bread is spelled Pita ...

And NO WAY. I was Team Peeta the entire time. Gale wasn't even much of a character the first book! He just had a couple of lines and you'd hear about him every now and then. Sure, he was cool (and I'll admit I wavered in Catching Fire) but Peeta was still so lovely. I just admired him because of the way he handled everything. The interviews, the manipulations, everything.

Also, I know I've never posted here before - that's because I only got into the Hunger Games recently (by recently, I mean a week ago. And by "got into" I mean I devoured the entire series as eBooks via interwebz and finished Mockingjay about ... five minutes ago. I found it online just this morning and I was like O_O until I scrolled down to the last word.)

They are AMAZING. I don't know how Suzanne Collins managed to weave such a well-known concept (a mixture of Survivor-Gladiator-Quillian Games) into something so extraordinarily capitivating. I literally couldn't stop reading each book. There wasn't a point where I was bored enough to think, "Ooh, maybe I can take a quick break here!" - I just finished each book so freaking fast. And then I felt sad when I realized it was over. But jeez! The tension, the excitement, the heart-poundingness of the dang series! Katniss one of the few female protagonists I don't hate because there is no way in hell I'd want to be in her place. Even though she annoyed me over Gale/Peeta (no brainer! Peeta! Don't be a Bella and pick the wrong dude!) but fortunately she was still awesome enough to fix it all.

Epic, epic series.

I don't know if any of you have read Mockingjay yet ... there's no point in spoilering it unless someone else can discuss it with me. But it was an amazing book. I cried buckets through most of it (I blame this on lack of food, though. Normally I'm not this susceptible) but it was incredible.

Gale is bad ass?! Dude, Peeta WON THE HUNGER GAMES! He has a fake leg!

Besides, Gale doesn't really do anything. He's pretty predictable as a character. I won't say he's two-dimensional, because he isn't, but his character is very clear and set from the start. He's the warrior-noble-hunter-boy-at-home. Its cool, but Peeta is far more complex.

Besides, Peeta gets infinitely cooler in Mockingjay.

Peeta is nicer than Gale. Gale is mean to everyone except Katniss, her family and his family...so, so mean...

Well ...

Spoiler Ahead. I've warned you.

True as that is (I mean, killing a mountainful of people? How very un-protagonist-like) I quite enjoyed Peeta's cruel side in Mockingjay. Even though it hardly lasted, it was just so interesting seeing him hate Katniss for once. Like she said, it really did make you appreciate him more. Plus, it was quite lovely to see him return to normal bit by bit *wipes away a tear* :')

I haven't read Mockingjay yet and just had to read the spoilers for it. I hate myself now because now I'm not looking forward to it as much. I had really hoped that Katniss would end up with Gale. And from what I read on Wikia.... let's just say that I'm probably not going to like the book very much.

.. What?! No!!! Don't let that get you down and how could you like Gale?! ... but Mockingjay really was an amazing book. Truly. You won't be able to let go after the first page.
