Jamie vs Scott (*Possible Necro Spoilers*)

Okay, what did I MISS?? Jamie is my favourite character in this whole series, and his only close competition is Matt. I don?t feel we know the character Scott well at all and I definitely don?t think he?s the coolest character ever!!

Jamie, however? haha.

I get that Scott is cool, in that he was Jamie's 'older' brother, and Jamie looked to him for everything, and he protected Jamie and everything, but this just made me excited for Jamie to be forced to become a stronger person by himself, which he DID ? and Scott went through a lot and has the whole troubled, angsty side going on, but? Jamie WENT BACK IN TIME, he got SHOT and went back in time and fought in a battle and killed people and killed some of the Old Ones and helped lock the rest away for 10 000 years and then had to come back to the 21st C and save his brother? and he has the same power as Scott, except he?s used it more and doesn?t have the reluctance to use it that Scott has?

And he?s smart and funny and has all this potential for angst over him being the only one without a double in the past, so in theory, they all have to die before letting him be killed, because they can be replaced? and he has a sword called Frost and I love the dynamic between him and Scar and I just think he?s much cooler.

All we?ve seen of Scott really is him being depressed, then kidnapped and tortured, then brain-washed and scarily unfeeling, then healed but not quite whole again, and upset because they can?t trust him completely.

Which is alright but compared to Jamie, I can?t see why you guys love him so much!!

it?s actually WEIRD because I usually love the tormented, tortured souls. But in this situation I seem to only be able to see it from Jamie?s side. Like, his sadness at not being fully with his brother any more because of what happened to Scott, his growth as a person during being separated from Scott and how he had to fight to get Scott back? I guess I'm a solid JAMIE fan

i always love the characters like scott. even though most of the time they end up by dying/. something about them just attracts me i guess.

jamie has always seemed much more immature to me, and more helpless. i've never really liked that about people. right. you've said all jamie did, so i'll do the same for scott.

scott has always looked after jamie, he was hit and hurt for jamie, kidnapped and tortured, --NECRO SPOILER-- saved jamies life --SPOILER OVER--and more. but i cant be bothered to write it. or remember it.

i was just on one of the posts i made and someone said there was gonna be a 'shocking end' so it might be with Scott, since most people like him end up lying face down in a river (just a figure of speech, and i hope it doesn't happen).

I'll say again its so odd cos I usually (read: ALWAYS!!) LOVE the tortured tormented leader older-brother figure.... and when we talk about this, breaking it down, I can see what you mean, that Scott is that kind of character.

But I swear I never ever ever even considered him interesting until I read this msgboard. Reading the books and talking about them with my friends we were just OTT obsessed with how awesomely amazing Jamie is.

Its so weird for me coming on here and being drowned in Scott fans who dont like Jamie much!!!!

I wanted to clarify a little how I see Jamie's character, in the same way we've been analysing scott, but I dont have the time right now so - trust me, Jamie is cool, honest!! lol.

scott fans? thats really weird... i thought it was only me and frost who think hes the best atm... (people who come on regularly at least) and i dont dislike jamie, i just dont like him as much. he's probably my 2nd favourite.

on the jamie/scott topic? its just you me and gatekeeper here... but in general i think most people are neutral... quite a few think he has too small a part to be considered XD

I think people like Jamie more is because they hear more about him in the books.

He just seems so much stronger than Jamie..

even though i like Scott i don't think he would. i mean, near the end of nightrise it says he was a pretty good bit weak. so maybe not.
