Chinese figures on the Necropolis UK cover

I was just curious, I noticed four or five chinese/mandarin figures when I first bought the book (but I never thought of it till last week) so I finally got around to bringing it to school for people to help me translate it (Im obviously not good at translating) but they could only translate two words...die and victim, the others they were in a way arguing, one was saying quickly, the other said walked...anyway I was wondering whether what was the actual meaning was.
Any ideas?

I was wondering the same thing, they are hard to read so you really could have a fight over them, I am sure the guy who did the cover would know

I noticed them right after I read the book...there is only two or three people who can possibly translate it in my class, and Ive asked two, they were arguing about one last I checked, it doesnt help that one pronounces something a bit not understandable, so when he said quickly I thought he said cookie (While I was asking what does cookies have to do with Necro) and when he said victim I thought he said vector or vectom. The seeing it isnt really a problem, its just that there are loads of chinese words and sometimes look alike so we could mistake it. I would be able to draw out the words but my mandarin writing is quite horrible.
And who was the person who made the cover?

Die, Victim, Walked, Quickly ? Mabe it's a clue to the next book, or like when rowling did the "Tom Marvolo Riddle" into "I am LOrd Voldemort" Mabe something, like that, making ONe word, or scentence out of another.
or even, "Victim walked quickly, to die "(or await) so much to think about!

I showed my Chinese teacher yesterday, and she said on the right-hand side those characters both mean death, and on the left it means something with a Lotus, possibly the White Lotus?

if you check in the front of the book, where the publishing detail are, you should find the name of the person to whom the artwork is credited. Then send an e-mail to the publishing company, asking them to forward it to the guy, and ask him what it means.
Mind you, I wonder if it really does have a meaning. Maybe those characters looked interesting, and so the guy chose them.

*sighs* That is very useful zaky but I have commited the horrible crime of cant remembering where I put my necro and nightrise book (and the first two books I lent it to someone so i cant check there)
And they do have a meaning...I dont know how I know but I occasionally pay attention in Mandarin and I have come across those words before...unfortunately due to my low attention in Mandarin span I have forgotten what it meant..

I mean "meaning" as in something to do with the book. It will definitely have a meaning,a s in translation.

actually they arent...they only
look
the same...like 'ho firefly' in japanese is 'hotaru koi'...whereas in mandarin is something...that is not hotaru koi. I forgot what the mandarin word was...it looks similar but it doesnt have the same similarity as BM and Indonesian does...
how on earth am I supposed to contact walker? I cant even contact my friend! (they have my numbers but conveniently I dont have theirs, both postal and telephone)
