OKAY. OKAY. I HAVE READ INHERITANCE. I AM READY TO RANT. Y'ALL BETTER GET READY FOR A LOT OF CAPS, BECAUSE THIS TOPIC IS ABOUT TO GET BUSY AGAIN, KAY!
THIS IS A SPOILER WARNING. THAT MEANS THE FOLLOWING WILL BE CHOCK-FULL OF SPOILERS. UNLESS YOU DON'T CARE (probable) DON'T KNOW (reread the previous again, then!) OR DON'T UNDERSTAND (in which case, Eragon is perfect for you) DO NOT GO ANY FURTHER WITHOUT READING BOOK 4 OF THE INHERITANCE CYCLE. OKAY?! BECAUSE THIS CAPS IS MAKING ME FEEL REALLY LOUD IN MY HEAD. OKAY!So first off... I can't believe I finished this series. I feel like a chunk of my childhood is over. But also, I feel relieved (and yes, FULFILLED!) because I can rest easy, knowing that we were so, so clever.
So, first of all, I HAVE TO QUOTE THIS BECAUSE IRONY AND LULZ.
Well, hazarding a guess here, but perhaps Eragon will accidentally stumble down a rabbit hole, and discover an entire nation of dragons living in secrecy, Ice Age 3 style! And they will try to eat him, but Saphira shall appear to the rescue, and fall in love with the Green Dragon, whom Arya will mysteriously adopt, and to top it all off, Eragon shall lead his newfound army of dragons back to the war, where he will decimate Galbatorix.
Or, it could have something to do with the Heart of Hearts thing.
...you guys. YOU GUYS. I WAS SO RIGHT. I WAS SO FRIGGIN' RIGHT. HE STUMBLED DOWN A TUNNEL, FOUND A BUNCH OF DRAGON HEARTS
OKAY THEY DIDN'T TRY TO EAT HIM, BUT SAPHIRA WAS STILL THERE AND
OMG SHE FELL IN LOVE WITH THE GREEN DRAGON AND ARYA WAS ITS RIDER ARGH ARGH ARGH ARGH WE PREDICTED THAT SO LONG AGO (REMEMBER, REMEMBER?!?!) AND AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I CAN'T BELIEVE HE CHOSE ARYA. WE SAID THAT AS A JOKE IN, LIKE, THE LAST TOPIC. I CAN'T GET HIS PREDICTABLENESS OUT OF MY HEAD. AND HE DID LEAD THE DRAGON HEARTS BACK TO WAR AND HE DID LITERALLY DECIMATE GALBATORIX!!!!
You GUYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYS! I got the plot of a novel in a four-minute post on a forum! I FEEL SO SUPREMELY SMUG.
Oh. Oh. Oh. AND THIS:
And yeah... Roran won't get killed off.
Or, Paolini might have a REALLY original idea and send them all off on a boat into the horizon, to the land across the water... wouldn't that be a funny coinkydink...
...
I am literally dying a little bit, reading that. I cannot.
...
...
I... just cannot.
THE BOAT THING. HE TOTALLY DID THE BOAT THING. HE ACTUALLY HAD THE NERVE TO DO THE BOAT THING!!
That's all. That is my review for Inheritance. I can't wait until you've all read it. I need to go breathe now.
(Also, as a side note: It's not as terrible as I make it sound. Actually, there are some quality Murtagh and Nasuada bits. I really love Murtagh now. I wish the whole series had been about Murtagh. And it's definitely not as terrible as Brisingr. But it's amusing that we predicted everything. Also, the Arya bit. That's terrible. THEY DIDN'T EVEN MAKE OUT.
I'M SORRY, BUT I MUST REVISIT THIS.
FOUR BOOKS.
LIKE FOUR THOUSAND PAGES.
ERAGON WHINING INCESSANTLY FOR TWO HUNDRED CHAPTERS.
AND WHAT DO I GET?!
/THEY HOLD HANDS/
THEY HOLD HANDS.
THAT'S IT. AND THERE'S SOME FANCY WHISPERING AND SHIVERING AND STUFF, BUT THEY DON'T EVEN KISS. WHAT KIND OF ---- IS THIS, OK. I AM ANNOYED.
Sorry. That's all. I really need to sleep. Finishing this book in a day was not a good idea. I'm so hyped up right now. Argh.)
