Czechoslovakia, Nov 17 - Dec 29 1989.
Fun piece of history, that. It's also known as the Gentle Revolution, if you wanted to know.

Probably. I don't know much about Albania.
But speaking of revolutions, which happen to be a favourite history topic of mine, what is the Carnation Revolution also referred to as?

So far as I can recall the 1905 Russian Revolution doesn't have a special name. However, it was triggered by the events of Blood Sunday when imperial troops opened fire on unarmed peaceful protesters.

Because before they stopped, high visibility on the battlefield hadn't been a problem, what with relatively short ranges of muskets and how much gun smoke came out just by firing the things. But then guns got better, ranges got longer, and smoke didn't obscure the soldiers because there no longer was any, so they became pretty visible targets.
Obviously, they decided they needed to be a little more inconspicuous.
Oh, the things weapons evolution does to armies....

There's a little bit more invalid in the answer. A very specific reason.

Wait, wait, does this have anything to do with the introduction of the machine gun?

I know khaki was standardised for the entire British army during the Second Boer War, but I'm not sure what you're specifically asking for... *confused*
