I'm not. You can't be 100% certain. Unless your seriously easily convinced...Although saying that I believe theres life in outer space. cheesy Although not on Mars...but rather Europa! Tongue
(one of jupiters moons)When the Galileo probe visited Jupiter and its attendant Galilean moons, Europa was thought to be a frozen ball of rock and ice. However pictures taken by the probe clearly revealed a series of cracks and fissures across the moon's surface. There is only one other place in the solar system that has this appearance, the frozen arctic seas on earth. It appears that deep below the icy surface Europa has a system of giant oceans. The composition of these oceans is unknown but there is a fair chance they support life. How do we know that life could survive below massive permanent layers of ice in oceans with no light reaching them? Because in similar conditions here on earth astrobiologists have also found life.

I found a funny astronomy website for little children...or 'kids' as the website says...I was dumbstruck when it gave me information I didn't know. cheesy

yeah life adapts to its surroundings, so it is possible that there is life underneath. I hope they dont do something stupid like try and get under

If they were to go under who knows what horrors they would have unleashed on us.

Find a warrior alien race that would be seeking revenge as on us earthlings.
Trigger a dormant underwater volcano thingy causing eruptions that will maybe disrupt some comets orbit or something and causing the comet to come raing down to earth (hopefully right on the crazy astronomer who thought of all this)
Keep on digging until theres a hole going right through Europa.

Gosh theres so many things that those scientists could cause because of one little mistake.

I got this book as award, its called Life as We Knew it, its a really cool story of a diary of a girl experiencing what it would be like if a meteor hits the moon and pushes it out of its orbit so that its so large in the sky, you could see the craters and all. You'd think that life would go on, only with an oversized  moon but you're so wrong. The moons pull would cause tsunamies, activate volcanoes, cause floods, and because of the volcano you can't see the sun just a grey sky and there'd be no electricity and food is scarce and then there's an epidemic, just think how rapidly and drasticly the world could change just because of a meteor.

Umm....wouldn't that be obvious?
I reckon they could reversE the effect...well...not really, but in a story they could.
Revers the effect to throw the moon back in to orbit.
This forth the luna pull wouldn't be there....

No because some of the things might need electricity and other things  they don't have. The fuel too is running out and besides all smart geniuses would probably be dead before they could even start on it, either the floods and tsunamis got them or the earthquackes and volcanos would.

not true, theres always the samrt people in Broken Hill, no earthquakes there, and not enough water in the world to get it with a tsunami.

anyway, i dont think there are aliens out there, the Earth is too unique.  There is so much about the earth that is incredinly finely balanced.  a little bit closer to the sun its too hot to support any life, at all, no matter how different it is too us, any further away and its too cold.  the amount of salt in the ocean, has to be within 1% either side of what it is now, or the planet cannot support life, the angle of the earth's tilt, is exaclty right, 23.5 degrees, 23.4, no life, 23.6 no life.  thats just 3 things, i saw a guy talking about it on a dvd, and he spoke for 15 minutes, just about the things about earth that are so finely balanced to support life, all of them, within that kind of margin.  and thats just to get a planet that can support life if it happens to exist, even for an evolutionist, its hard to see life being out there some where else.
