I've had a few close shaves with snakes on my property in the mountains - we've seen black snakes, brown snakes, tiger snakes and a couple of red-bellied black snakes. I was getting up onto the deck and one of my feet was still hovering over the grass, and a red-bellied black snake came slithering from under the deck, right under my foot!! Heart attack moment of that year!  cheesy

We also had a heap of visits in primary school from 'Deadly Australians' people who would bring us all manner of deadly creatures to pet, while they told us what they could do to us and what to do in case of an emergency. I petted a taipan (venom extracted) - the same Taipan that had caused the guy holding it for us to have lost feeling all down his left side! I've heard of forgive and forget, but really?

I also had a swimming teacher once who had been bitten by a shark - lucky enough not to have lot his leg, but the scars were hideous and very not-fake!

Ah, the perks of being aussie  cheesy

New phobia.

Not understanding what some French guy said really fast and you had no idea what it meant and just saying "oui" but that being the opposite of what you wanted...

Personal experience there...

Haha I did pretty well with my french in France. I asked for directions and got to the right place, ordered food and got the right stuff...

It'd be pretty scary to be stuck in a place where you didn't understand anything.

That happened to a friend of mine who went on a tour of Europe. She studied French at school, but this was back in year 9, so she only had a passing knowledge of the language. Eventually she'd just reply with "Pardon, je suis Australienne." and they'd happily slow down or switch to English for her.

Who would I be... If I'd never met Alex Rider?

Ha, I've been to France before with my school. It was scary trying to order a pain au chocolat and coke!

Ordering stuff is easy. But when your exchange says "it's really cold outside, you should put on a jumper before we go bowling" and you reply with "oui"...that is scary!

Haha! I'm not sure if I actually have, you know, a phobia. Sure, I'm kinda scared of some things, but they aren't actually phobias.

I used to only be scared of spiders and sharks, now I have a new fear of scorpions.
3 have tried to hunt me down this month. Not the nicest thing to see crawling through your backdoor!

BLONDIE. You're back. Are you still in Tassie? Do you get scorpians in tassie? Also, that is totally reasonable.

I think she vanished again.

In Nicaragua (emphasis on "uAAAAAAAAAH" as in "Gap Yaaaaaah") my friend Oscar was getting dressed as we ate. He pulled on his top and started eating, and the girl opposite him screamed... there was a scorpion on his top. He flicked it off whilst screaming. As soon as we knew it was safe, it was utterly hilarious...

Haha!!! Lol! But that would be pretty scary... I like going on tall rides, aeroplanes, I'd maybe like to do bungee jumping. But I get scared going up these stairs at school sometimes cuz the bannister is only up to my waist and I'm so aware of how easy it would be to tip over it if I leaned too far over....
