Romance In the Novel?

Okay then "Eagle Strike" was probably the novel with the biggest front on romance.
With plenty of scenes that could be used for a variety of couples, it's interesting to see what other people think of the couples and their hints.
Sabina and Alex is the main pairing of the series. In the novel there is plenty of flirting on Sabina's accout and of course the goodbye kiss. I personally think their romance is rather one sided and Alex even seemed a little confused with her flirting and c'mon how many 14 year old boys would just ignore an 'attractive' girl who's wearing a bikini that barely leaves anything to the imagination-at least that's the idea I got from the description.
My pairing of choice is Alex/Yassen. Once again there are hints, mainly on Yassen's side. Of course Alex thinks about Yassen, even if they aren't romantic it still shows he has an effect on him. Of course there are Yassen's last words also.
I'd be interested to know of any other pairings you lot spotted and what you think.

Well, he already knew her so i think that cut down on his attraction to her.

You could also see that Sabina really loved her dad.
Glad i could help.

The romance of course! Cray loved charity, he'd go away and have little babies with it... Cancer Research Cray, Helen Cray, Douglas Cray...

Letsa put it this way. I HATED all the romance. Or maybe it's that I hate Sabina. But still, it seemed a little.....forced.

Romance!!!? This is just a bit too silly! Sure, lots of people love lots of things in that book but i wouldnt say that anyone really passionately loves anything. Alex loves Jack is family love and he probably just thinks of sab as a friend who is starting to romantically love him a very tiny bit. WAKE UP PEOPLE! THIS IS ALEX RIDER, NOT ROMEO AND JULIET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Theres nothing wrong with a little bit of imagination. There may be no romance in the book, but that doesn't mean we ca't read in between the lines and maybe do a little bit of thinking ourselves.

Yeah, romance with Sabina is the one thing that really bugged me about this series. These books were made to be exciting thrillers, not romance novels. I said in another thread that is seems Anthony tried to stick in a romance plot where it just wouldn't work. However, Eagle Strike is still my favorite of the series because the scenes without the romance are just breathtaking.

The
whole book
was breathtaking! And I didn't really notice that much romance between Alex and Sabina, I mean, they're just friends. The only part that was a bit romantic was the end when they say goodbye, but you pretty much miss that scene because you're overwhelmed from the scene with Mrs. Jones.
Yes, Eagle Strike is the
best
book *sighs contentedly*
