Hello ...

I thought that this might be of interest to you all.

I'm the Co-Administrator of a literary/book review site and I've recently interviewed Jay Benedict, who played John Kieffer in the Foyle's War episodes "Invasion" and "All Clear".

Quite apart from being a lively and wide-ranging interview (the first he's ever given, I believe ...) he mentions Mr Horowitz - not once, but twice.

Firstly, as one of his children's favourite authors, and secondly in a rather sweet 'thank you' for creating the role of Kieffer and writing it so well!

I should, perhaps, just mention that for anyone who hasn't yet seen "All Clear", the interview contains a major spoiler.

I ought also to mention that Jay has a colourful turn of phrase from time to time ...

He was very surprised to be asked, I think, and if anyone would like to leave a comment - or just say 'hello', it would be nice.  (The interview has been read by hundreds of people, but very few have left comments ...).

You can do so without being a registered member of the site.  All you need to do is give a name and your email address - which will be visible only to the site Administrators.

I hope you enjoy the interview.   smiley

Yes, he IS quite plain spoken ... and I like that quality, too.

Glad you enjoyed the interview.   smiley

I hate doing interviews, but when I have to I pray that they are blunt speakers....
It makes my job so much easier.  It also gives a good insight into the individual.

You never know what you're going to get with an interview until you start it, do you?  Sometimes the most unexpected people can turn out to be really tricky customers, while others - like Jay - are just great.  He was an interviewer's dream ... and a real player.  Absolutely nothing fazed him ... but then, if you can wear fishnets and high heels in front of a live audience ... probably nothing would!   grin

I have had  some interviews that went great and others, well lets just say by the time you got done with the interview you felt like you had been through a war zone.... you have to fight to get every word out of them....
