i don't think that it could be just any of the five. i think it had to be Matt.to me he is one more different then the rest of them. thier is something more then background and powers and what we know about him now. I like him and all but there is more to him that the auther wants us to think. thats why i like this auther he well keep you thinking in his books. but i'm maybe way off topic.
so to me the fire hounds which i thought were called hell hounds were the most scaryest thing i have ever read in this book

no. because at the moment matt was the only one they knew about. that's why they used him. they needed the blood of an enemy. the villagers were helping to bring the old ones back, so they coudn't have sacrificed themselves. the enemy of the old ones are the 5. matt was the only one there.
