If he was, he could have just shot him anyway, maybe end his pain?
I mean, Ash was the last bit of family Alex had left.
Even though he was a traitor, he was still his Godfather..
Although, I do agree that Alex is too good, even if he tried to kill Mrs. Jones in Scorpia.
(That was in Scorpia, right?)

My take on this was that Alex accepted this news in a rather 'unsurprised' way.  If I remember correctly, he had managed to work it out for himself before he saw Ash with Yu.  He had even figured out that it was Ash who had killed his parents.

As to what I can put into this, I can't really see Alex having strong feelings for his godfather.  It isn't as though he even knew the guy existed two weeks prior to the discovery of the betrayal.  We can't even say that he agreed to go on the mission to meet Ash for the sake of seeing him.  He agreed to go to learn more about his parents.

Just my penny's worth.

I think that there was a raging fire inside him, but he couldn't let it go, for the sake of survival, and anyway, he was a little busy with escaping from the hospital place!
