This comment may be a little off topic so i am very sorry  embarassed but i always thought dat the thing or animal (or what ever ) that killed Tom was the same dog like creature(s) that chased Mat through the woods when he saw the people at the power station when Richard picked him up huh but IDK i'm probably wrong. I also agree, that is a very cleaver idea, i had not thought of it like that. But i do agree with the fact that i think it was Asmodeus that killed tom considering that tom shot it with a shotgun early on that night. But as to the Old One idea it will be interesting to see what happens with that and if we will see him again.
