Who else agrees that Asmodeus was really creepy and that Asmodeus was the one that killed Tom Burgess because in the book it says somthing like he has been killed by a vicious animal.

I think Asmodeus was probably the second. I've always wondered, even when i read the original, whether Asmodeus might not have been the spirit of an old one that took over the cat, and used that to get Mrs. Devrill to serve the old ones

As for how it would be possible...it might not be too hard for beings as powerful as the old ones. Just because they've been banished from this world in person, doesn't mean they can't project their minds here

i really like ranbows idea about hit being an old one....i recently read a book with that concept called The Last Apprentice:The Curse of the Bane... its really good yall should read the first 1 too
