Rainbowstar can you give us a clue to what the devestation on a massive scale is in the original please. I have just had a thought maybe the old ones as well as threatening Scar, threaten Pedro, Jamie, Scott, Richard and Proffeser Chambers aswell by telling Matt somhow that if he doesnt hurry up and find the place where the old ones are keeping Scar hostage the old ones will use use Scar's power (if it is true her power is weather controlling) to send huge tremendous tornadoes to wipe out Peru and also kill Pedro, Jamie, Scott, Richard and Proffeser Chambers, so that Pedro's, Jamie's, Scott's, Richards and Proffeser Chambers lives are at risk altough they wont be featured in the book. Just a thought.

Well that's not how it went in the original.  Besides, you can't just use another person's power like that.

All I will say is...Scar has a way of protecting herself, but is not in a position to control that protection, so that causes a lot of destruction.  Of course, it might be different in the new version

He's said on his news post that he's about finished with it, so to expect it in April 2009

You must realising that publishing houses also plan there releases far ahead so they can make sure no other big book is released on the same day.  So even if the editing and all of that doesn't take a year, finding a suitable date to publish it where it wouldn't be overshadowed or wuldn't overshadow another book might make it april 2009 indeed
