That's a pretty interesting idea. i just always assumed Alex could do no wrong but i didn't notice that sentence...maybe Horowitz will go a bit darker in the next book..though i still can't see Alex shooting someone (even an evil guy) in cold blood. he's only 14, imagine killing someone at that age? hmmm one to think about anyway I think at some moments you'd be suprised how easy it is. When ur mad at someone, or know there will be no consequenses to ur actions, I think it's much easier to murder it's just takes a moment, pulling a trigger and if it's him or you the choice is easily made

I don't think he's directly killed somebody... Nazcamonkey: Very, very good responses to all of those. You're a good thinker aren't you? he did, he was the one who accelerated the jeep off the ramp in order to murder dr grief and srr but if anyone's gonna argue that when u decide to fling a ton or two of metal into someone's face, you don't mean to kill them it's sorta impossible

I think what AH was trying to say was that although Alex has indirectly killed people (like tiweh22 said, accelerating the snowmobile) but he's always avoiding him pulling a gun out and shooting someone with the full intention of killing them. Like in Snakehead, Major Yu conveniently dies because of his brittle bones, in Stormbreaker, Yassen comes along to save Alex the trouble, in Eagle Strike, Cray is conveniently thrown out the door etc. He aims to stop what they're doing, but killing them's not been his option, presumably to protect his innocence. Nazcamonkey: Very, very good responses to all of those. You're a good thinker aren't you? Hehe, thanks I'm not really though, just a geeky English lit A level student with too much free time.

I still think he is a good guy because he has been on many missons for his country but you never know because after scorpia he might want to turn into a bad guy

he tried to become a bad guy but if you remember his training he never had the will power to kill someone coldblooded. he originally, like what nazcamonkey said, killed someone without the intention to kill them. in his training he shot a lot of targets just fine but he had a hard time shooting targets with pictures of real people on them. he just does not have the will power to intentionally kill someone. not even someone he may really hate.

i'm not saying that it won't happen. i mean everyone changes eventually. i'm just saying that it's not likely. the people who he'd have the most intentions of killing, like ASH, are already dead.

I think that we all think at some point we could kill someone and we don't have the opportunity (thankfully), while Alex is given the unique opportunity to do so. Who more deserves it than a man who tried to sell off his body parts. I think that yes Alex is getting darker, but I think there are other signs, but this isn't the definitive sign.

I think that even if ALex does kill in cold blood he would have a lot of remorse. Rather than some people who've killed you read about that kill for the "greater good" and don't seem to have any remorse. I don't think AR could live w/ that. That should at least count 4 something.

I don't think so as much as he'd want to it would only be to get back at MI6 would it not? and I think he wouldn't be able to do something like that seeing as his dad and uncle both worked for them!
