Ramen! It's Love for all ages!

« on: November 18, 2007, 07:21:14 PM »

In Snakehead Alex comes face to face with Dr Tanner and his group of nurses. In the way he escapes through the hospital is something I found facinating, I would never have expected him to do White Water Rafting. I also found that the way Major Yu planned for him to die is something I found the worst in the series yet. Something completly unexpected and revolting, I can't imagine what it must be like to know that you are going to die slowly and painfully. I was just searching for some thing on the internet and came across the Bora Falls and here is a tiny example of what Alex would have gone through.

That does look very hard to canoe down. And I agree with Claudi-Ann, Major Yu had a painful death planned for him!

yeah, but i loved that part because of what could have happened to him and the fact that AH wrote in the charactor who was going to get his eyes so Alex could see him was brilliant

i think that, that would be one of the most horrible ways to die, and there are a lot of falls etc like that in Aust

I think it was awesome, that whole part. Gruesome when you think of what could happen, but I think Anthony did his research. If Snakeheads are all he says... crazy. But I love the whole escape. Did anyone else guess/figure out by then that SPOILER****** Ash was with Scorpia?

actually i had a feeling that Ash wasn't on Alex's side........ however, i think that's kind of off topic so i'll continue the conversation about the Bora Falls....

ouch, that does looks painful. Alex has the best luck in the world ("the luck of the devil" i think was said in the book), but even if he did die, he would have died trying to escape from that freaky hospital. he wouldn't have died submitting to those horrible surgeries...

are you sure that the picture was a Bora falls from Australia? because the closest thing to the Bora falls would be the Jim Jim falls which is in Kakadu National park (it is so nice in there, really worthwhile smiley ). here's a picture:

it seems to match the desription...kind of. do you think AH was basing the Bora Falls on the Jim Jim falls?

Gosh, looking at that picture amazes me. Alex is so fearless,
I would have been scared. That's pretty tough, and dangerous, but Alex is amazing, so I can see how the luck of the devil helped him survive.

that pic kind of confuses me about one thing. it makes me wonder where he took the plunge? I mean obviously at the top but he would have landed a little ways down and he lost all his strength at the end that he couldn't have survived the last bit of the Bora Falls.  undecided

besides, the book says that the current slowed down after he reached the surface. how can it slow down when he's not all the way down the Bora Falls? huh cool

because he reached the surface of the water in the bottom, and after a waterfall the current usually slows down, unless there's another waterfall coming
