A welcome return to FW.  Watched 'Invasion' last night, and enjoyed it.
The tricky situation between the 'invading' Americans and the locals was well handled.  Foyle played an excellent 'piggy-in-the-middle.  The interaction between him and the American Captain was excellent.
Marvellous fishing scene, guaranteed to have the female audience sighing. Nice ending too, with Foyle going off to do justice to the Jack Daniels.
Glad the Sam/Andrew relationship was not left hanging in the air.
Thanks to all the team for doing such a great job.
Michael Kitchen was, as usual, brilliant, and it was good to see him back on our screens again.

This was an excellent story line.  The topic of germ warfare was most interesting.   Poor Sam had to suffer yet again, but the final scene with DCS Foyle and Sam was very moving. So glad poor, lonely Mr. Foyle is meeting some old friends, and it gives us a chance to him off duty, enjoying himself.

More episodes soon, please.   DCS Foyle is definitely 'Top of the Cops'.

Didn't see it, Pixie, but no, I gather Foyle got the antidote to save her. In the final scene (in hospital) she asked him if she was really a "part of the team" and he assured her that she was "invaluable", so she said she wouldn't marry the Yank and disappear to California.

Awww. I thought she should have married him he was cute. Thats a shame, but at least Foyle wont be alone then.
Is there love in sore for him .. Cause that would be so cool!

Is there love in store for him?

Can't answer that for sure, Pixie, as we've no idea what Mr. H has cooking in his head, but there has been no signs of a love interest for Foyle so far, not in fourteen episodes.  Despite the fact that there are legions of (mostly female) fans dying to see him hooked up with some worthy lady, the prospect seems rather bleak. He seems to think that a lonely Foyle is more interesting somehow. Go figure.

Anyway, glad you enjoyed the shows -- again, I haven't seen them. So The Yank is cute, huh? I thought it was a bit funny that he was named Joe ... makes him GI Joe, you see.

I just hope that Mr. Horowitz will not be too busy to write some more scripts for Foyle's War.   Whilst I am pleased to hear that his books are such a success, I trust that our favourite police officer  will not be neglected.

Btw, Lynette, GI Joe was quite a cutey.  Couldn't hold a candle to DCS Foyle, though.
