I am just one of many Foyle Fans who are so disappointed that Series 4 of this excellent programme will only have 2 episodes.  We have waited all year for the return of our favourite Detective, and now we feel cheated out of two episodes.

This is such a wonderful series, and Michael Kitchen's superb understated performance as DCS Foyle is a delight to watch,, so please don't limit it to just 2 episodes.

Hi Jo,

I hope you will be pleased to learn that the next series of Foyle's War will shortly be under way, due for screening next year. In the meantime. I hope you enjoy the repeats on ITV.

Do you mean FW5 will be in production soon, for transmission in 2006?

Hopefully we'll get FW4 as well!  Cheesy

You've raised two good points there, Nona Fiona.

I am waiting for FW4 to be broadcast this Autumn, and hope that Mr. Horowitz is announcing that FW5 will go into production shortly - this time with 4 episodes.

Although I have DVD's of the Series which was recently repeated on ITV, I was still enjoying watching the repeats, but alas ITV did not show the final episode of that series.  Heaven alone knows why.

FW1 is being broadcast again during October on ITV, Joanna. Was it Eagle Day that you missed or The Funk Hole?

November is still likely for FW4.

It was The Funk Hole which ITV missed out.   I do have the whole series on DVD, but I was still miffed that the 4 episodes were not repeated, particularly when there was no mention of it.

Does anyone know if there is the likelihood of romance for poor lonely Mr Foyle in the new series?
I wonder if AH would ever consider bring Barbara from 'They Fought in the Fields' back. He really needs the love of a good woman embarassed

Fe, I doubt Mr Horowitz has any intention of ending the loneliness of DCS Christopher Foyle.

It's a pity because I am sure the viewing figures would be even higher if a little romance entered the poor man's life.

Here's hoping,

I totally agree.

I can understand AH's relutcance: the loneliness is an imporantant part of CF's character. Still, a touch of discrete romance, would not detract from this well rounded character, he  has plenty of other personality facets to keep him interesting. A romance could even add to his poignant situation eg meet someone, the romance begins to blossom, then she gets posted to a war zone overseas. As Andrew is relatively safe now, he could be given someone else to worry about! See Mr H ? - easy Wink
