I'm just wondering because me and a friend started discussing it... Do you say it like Yahhh (long a) or Yaaah (short a)? *Can't think of a better way to explain it* I say it like the first one, but on RiderCast they say it the other way  ... |

In the movie they say it the second way so thats probably how to say it. I say it the second way aswell.

well, i believe we had a thread on this a while back, and all came to the conclusion that it was pronounced

Nice way of putting it. I think I'm the only one that pronouces it the other way xD I just seems more Russian that way... *is shot*

With the short a, I think. That's the way they said it in the movie, and AH probably would have corrected them if the pronouced it wrong... (Wow. I'm slowwww xD)

Huh, I'd never thought about this really. I just looked at the name and pronounced it 'Yah-sin' in my head. But I do that all the time, and get things wrong. The pronunciations in the HP films were all different to how I imagined. The film pronunces it 'Yah-sin' doesn't it? or does it say 'Yaw-sin?'
