I just joined the list, have read the first five books, and must make a small confession: I am 51 years old, an academic by training, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the novels.  I do plan on giving the first book or all six to my 14 y/o nephew for his birthday in May, but I had to confess! LOL

That is very good! ^^ The Alex Rider series are novels that appeal to everybody, not just teenagers. That's why they are so successful! ^^

It's awesome that you love the books. My dad enjoys the books too =] and he's about 40. So I guess it's true that anyone of any age can read them =D

Hey!
I think that is an awsome confession. I am 20. Younger than you, but old enough to feel slightly embarrased about recommending the books to my friends. The good thing is that they have all picked them up too! My Dad, who is fourty something, thoroughly enjoyed the books when I read them outloud on a roadtrip. My Grandma, who just turned 80, has borrowed all of them from us.
Just thought I would let you know, you are not the only one out there! Welcome!

Well, I feel better.  I'm not so old after all in terms of reading the novels.  Thanks for the kind comments, they made me laff. LOL  smiley

Haha me too!(well, actually i'm 13 now..)
I got a bunch of my friends to read it. Now I have to work on my older brother...He thinks that their stupid, because he uses a gameboy as a so called "tracking device" when its not really a tracking device at all. Then he laughs and calls me obsessed.

Make sure you read Anthony's other work as well!.  I'm 23 myself, and have grown up with his books.  My older brother and sister introduced me to them at the time, when I was 10, and really, I find that Alex rider is, all be it still good, the least enjoyable of the Anthony Horowitz' work.  So if you like these, I'm sure you'll love the rest.  Don't miss out on his books for adults (Killing Joke) and his TV shows (murder in mind, foyle's war,...) because they're really good as well.  Not always as suitable for a younger audience, but for someone of your age I'm sure they'll keep you busy until you've seen/read them all Smiley

Hmm..I need to work on my persuasive skills.
I tried recommending them to my friends, like, a million times, but none of them are readers. Their the nonreading-unless-they-hav-to type. Only tow of my friends hav read them, but I consider that a success.

I'm 19 and can't wait for the next book to come out!  My friend got me hooked on the series, and now my parents and my younger brother enjoy reading them, too.
