to ALEX CRAIG
i am POed at you because i am not a young adult or watever u said and i honestly think that i am one of the many young alex fans...my friend even made a movie and i played the part of ....a number 1 alex rider fan!( wat a shocker) i want 2 noe... r u a young adult? if u arent.. i do not feel sorry about calling you a hypocrite....u made my day really bad...and by the way..onlt 115 days untill CT comes out!
STEWIE
Hey Stewie, I'd like to make a few comments.
Firstly, try to not text speak, which is writing 'lyk dis'. It makes it hard for international fans and older, less hip fans to read.
Secondly, Alex Craig is entitled to his own opinion in the same way you are, not only that, he makes valid points. I can see why some parents may not want their kids under the age of 12 reading Alex Rider.
Personally, I don't find it too bad themes wise, but not everyone thinks the same.
Thirdly, if he is a young adult, that wouldn't make him a hypocrite. The only thing that might is if he were an under 12 himself, OR if he had kids under 12 and allowed them to read it.

I am hip and I did not understand a word stewie said!
I would still like to say that I think they can be enjoyed by all, younger readers understand them maybe at a different level, but they still love them...
and please to the rest of you, when you are saying something, make it a valid argument ...because you do not make your opinion inpact if you use chatspeak and horrible spelling/grammar

Hehe I started the alex Rider series...oh, I dunno, when Ark Ark Angel first came out? I had to wait a good few years for Snakehead- (torture, I assure you XD )- and I'm 17 now- and still really into the series! Unlike other books....*coughMaximumRide*, but that's a different story....
However, I wish that AH had/will write a series of Alex Rider books for the older teens/ adults. Because the series is very dark when you think about it and I wanna see that explored. Give me blood and angst and swearing!

*coughCHERUBcough* AR is fine how it is...
I started reading AR just before Ark Ange came out...saw the poster in a book shop and thought "i might read those" but that is not the point, the point is what age group they are for...
and that age group is 8+ in my opinion!

Yeah it does seem to be that even though AR is rated quite low age-wise, the teenagers are still picking it up- which is great!
I remember the first time I read an AR book- Point Blanc- 'twas in English class and I thought
aw yuk I dont wanna read a spy book
and then, of course, I fell in love with it XD Well...it was either Point Blanc or a book about a field of corn catching a disease...easy choice really ^^'

the reason i said 8+ was because it sort of goes on...20 year olds can read - and enjoy - Alex Rider books while 8 year olds can as well! and the boy in question here is 7...he seems pretty advanced for his age! so let him read it!

Haha yeah, you're right, and it's the sort of books that grow old with you...so why not start young?
I just wish I'd started younger- although then I'd have had to wait for most of them coming out XD

Nixola- Let me tell you, I started with Stormbreaker, and it seemed like pure torture waiting for the next book. I even have the green cover with the lightening on it haha.

Stormbreaker used to be green? You
did
start early; I've never even heard of that
I don't think I could have waited all that time, though! I would have died
I remember my friend complaining that I was taking too long getting changed after swimming once- I was actually already dressed, just reading the first chapter of Ark Angel I'd just bought- Scorpia was such a cliffhanger I couldn't resist

i'm sorry to everyone who couldnt understand my writing. i wont use any chat speak anymore.....but are abbreviations for the books allowed? and for people? like AH for anthony horowitz and AR for alex rider? i also would like to say sorry for alex craig. i thought about what you posted last night and realized you were just giving what you thought was right. i am really, 100% sorry i snapped at you. and thanks to DilanMelis for letting me know about the chat speak preoblem. but Dilan, i would really appreciate if you wrote in a nicer tone because now i totally understand how alex craig feels....anything else i should appolagize for?....let me know by PMing me, but i think its time to get back to the topic.

Hehe well I guess 8+ (or 7 1/2 +
) includes ages upwards to infinity
So I'm happy with that

I started reading when the series ended with Scorpia (and we thought it was actually the end!!) so I totally know this feeling!!! I remember my friend telling me 'AH is writing AR6' - PURE SHOCK... 'But - he's DEAD!!'
And I have to agree with the comment

... except I dont think AH should re-write them or anything, I think they should make movies of the books, more in this style. Or at least a hundred times darker and more intense than the Stormbreaker movie!! I know the AR books are for younger teens, and I shouldnt want to make them for older people just because Im older now, but they should at least be true to the depth and intensity of them!
I know Ive said this a hundred times all over these forums, but - if you've seen the Bourne movies, more with that kind of feel/atmosphere or whatever. Dark, gritty, intense, etc.
Okay, okay, BOT.

No, no I didn't mean re-write ^^', just ...oh, I don't know, after he's finished number 10 or how many other AR book's he's going to do, I would like to see the rest of his teenage years with a more older teen feel, you know?
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love them as they are, I'd just like to see a different side of it :3
