You can be any age really it all depends on what you like.
But I didn't think there was any words in these book or scenes that would make it un-suitable (is that the correct word) for slightly younger readers. undecided

I was a student teacher aged 19 on teaching practice in a Y5 class when Alex Rider entered my world. I was hearing a boy read Point Blanc, he was 3/4 the way through and it was really exciting, The boy was a fluent reader and he just kept reading so much so that I go into the story and was sad to get him to stop. Once getting back to Uni I looked up the book in the Uni library and found it took it out and read it, that was it i was hooked!!! I finished it and took out Stormbreaker and then Skeleton Key. I was horrified to find that book 4, Eagle Strike wasn't available in the library and i had to buy my own copy, I now own all 7 books, plus Stormbreaker the film. I loved these book and it got me back into reading for pleasure as being made to read during school put me off as i was not very good. Being 19, 20, 21 and throughally enjoying reading these books now 23 years old and still rereading these books assures me that these books are for anyone aged 8 and above, age is no limit. I hope i will be continuing looking forward to rereading Alex's classic adventures to my grandchildren when I get that old in years and years to come.

I think it depends...because not everyone reads books from the age group they are supposed to. So i suppose you can say pretty much everyone..?
i dont think they are unsuitable for younger readers though...
Skeleton key was the first one i ever read, and i think i was probably 9 or ten, but i still read them uptill the age of twleve (i think)

Edit//
i  read meggys post and i just realised we said pretty much the same thing...

Haha, don't worry. But basicly it all amounts to that really, I woul have said something like Twilight was for people aged 14 and above yet1a 12 year old has read it I would have said that the Alex Rider books are for 12 to 16 yet I know an 8 year thats read them and now a 23 year old. Tongue Age doesn't matter in the world of books.

Where I live, the books are also all in the Young Adult section  undecided But I think anyone can enjoy it...I know of a seven-year old who's read all of AH's books and some others who are much older and also love them.

That's great, Alwyn the Duck! I have a similar story! Found out about the books at age 19...I now own all the Alex Rider books, the movie which I love, and the first two graphic novels. I can get them all at the library, but I chose to buy them. I also have The Devil and His Boy and several Nick Diamond books. All of my books, the movie, movie book, and DS game are signed by Anthony Horowitz. Except the graphic novels, because I just bought them.
Yeah. I drove several hours to see Anthony Horowitz. He was funny and not the startled that I was there. I'm now going on 22 years old. There is no age limit! My Grandma reads them! My librarians say that there is nothing wrong with reading books not in your 'age' group. I mean, Anthony Horowitz is an adult and he is writing them, and I know he enjoys doing that. Why would he write something that he himself wouldn't want to read?

The DS game is fun. Easy, I think but an enjoyable game. I won it in two days, though. I had a lot of time on my hands. I am not a big gamer so I can't compare it to much. One review complained because Alex 'kills' everyone. You have to go around kicking people who try to stop you. Hehe. If you have a DS, though, and find a used copy, I would get it. That's how I got mine.

My absolute favorite part is that you get to play snooker! I feel so more British...hehe. I play snooker all the time now, on the DS. My brothers can all play it, too. Fun stuff.

i think these books are great for all age groups, just not kids 8 and down. Reason for that being is he way alex replies to his enemies, and what he does to get out of trouble. ex in ark angel, he needed to get away during the football game. and to do that he put  two fingers up the put one down, leaving the middle one up. that isn't so appropriate for ages 8 and down
so yea otherwise it's for everyone
