Couldn't have said it better myself. Really, I think this romance is just weird. I mean, they didn't really even kiss, except that one time and that was all Sabina. Then he moves in with her...at fifteen. Some romances I like, like in the Percy Jackson series, with him and Annabeth.

Let's face it: Alex Rider is a wanted man. Alex, in our minds, is like an almighty god, and some fall for him. *cough* isabelle *cough* Sabina loves him, but he's better off single. Atleast, if there should be romance at all, try, I say try, to make Alex's equal. Not a scrawny twit. I don't think Alex needs a woman to be happy, but he's in a bad place right now, so it's a little bit understandable and relatable. But when Sabina comes and needs a shoulder to cry on, Alex can punch her!

And the only difference betweeen books like Harry Potter or Percy Jackson and Alex Rider, is that you connect more with Alex on an emotional or personal level. He's more relatable.

I think that Alex would want a girl like Sabina, though. I mean, think about it, he doesn't want to think of the spy world every time he sees his girl! I think that Alex would also like having a normal girlfriend in order to make himself feel more normal. And he's been through a lot with Sabina... If he fancied another girl, it just wouldn't be the same! He wouldn't be able to tell her about the spy stuff in case they broke up, and then if he told her when he trusts her enough, she might be scared out of the relationship.

Okay, as much as I agree with you Rider rules, Alex, inevitably, whether he wants to or not, is going to be reminded of the spy world, in the littlest things that happen to him. Even Sabina is going to remind him of it. Maybe not by directly talking about it, but by her actions or expressions. Sure he could fancy her, but not everyone has to be married to be happy. He will need a best friend

Like, she only wants Alex to be wowed by her attractiveness. And anyway, how do you know Alex doesn't like rubbing sunscream on her? If Alex was your boyfriend wouldn't you want him to do that too? It's not like Sab'd go for a swimsuit to cover up her whole body when trying to have a relationship with Alex.

Yeah, I mean Sab never tried to worm her way in with Alex (like Fiona Friend tried to). Alex became friends with her. You can't blame Sab for being friends with Alex (well, maybe a little more than friends, but it's not like it was only on Sabina's side, Alex does like her too).

Haha. I like Alex having a girlfriend. I mean, he's described as being 'strikingly good looking'. Having a girl a year older than him definitely shows that. It also shows that he's less immature than other boys...
Anyway, if Alex DIDN'T have a girlfriend, that would be sad, especially for a guy as handsome as him.
