the inca prince also said that the knife is a part of richard now, and it will not be detected. any ideas on how this is?

Hmm...all right, so he might not die then. I forgot about that part...
If it's part of him, then it can't hurt him (unless his whole being is prepared for something like that).
Somebody did say he might have to kill an innocent person, so maybe it's that? I mean....we were kinda thrown through a loop at one point in Evil Star, weren't we? Things aren't always what they seem in this book series...

Interesting question. Is it part of his body or something else?

maybe he will think he is killing the right person but kills an inocent person and then regrets it that would explain the inocent person thing and the regret thing

i'm not so sure guys, al thses points are valid, but think of it, matts the main charatcer, theres no way theyd kill him off, if its richard that gets killed with it, wat does matt do for a place to saty? he'd probably end up in care again. but.... one of the two pycic kids. jamie i think, is on the run as a murderer, maybe richard thinks hes killing a murdere but attmpts to kill one of the five instead? but then one of the five is dead..hmm, so it has to be for the death of someone else, maybe the traitor of the nexus? u remember that 1 guys? or was he/she cought i carnt remember, have to read through again.

i have an idea of what is going to happen. since in the past, the five defeated the old ones by that trick, the present five will use that same trick but with another member. i think that the old ones will try to influence richard to kill matt, and matt will tell ricard to kill him with the knife so the trick would work. that would explain why richard would regret ever having it. so the past matt would rpelace the present and the old ones would think he was dead.

i thought something along the lines of that. never thought the old ones would persuade richard though. are we allowed spoilers on this topic???
