Cause one of the five wouldn't be able to it themselves and the sword makes him.
I don;'t know...it makes no sense actually.

I think that Scott will turn bad and they have to sacrifice him to get flint, because he can be trusted. On another note, why don't the old ones just kill jamie? Then the circle will be broken. Maybe he will have extra protection or something

I think it runs in a circle completely. Sapling gets killed, Jamie replaces him. Jamie gets killed, Sapling replaces him. It just keeps going. I think that Richard may use it to save Matt or another Gatekeeper (but probably Matt) and die to save him. But I don't want Richard to die... But if someone has to die, I'd want it to be Scott.
I'm pretty sure Matt said the end would be bitter, though...

Remember in night rise, when sapling sacrificed himself? I don't think you can come back from that. Sapling knew that, Matt knew that. I'm still sticking with my Richard- sacrifice-Scott-to-get-flint theory.

I think it's going to be the other was around, I think Richard might have to sacrifice Matt to save the world... But that's just my wild theory!

I think it will be used to kill Matt (but on purpose or in an accident I'm not sure) as they have such a close relationship and it would be more tragic. Also one (or more) of the gatekeepers is going to die in the last book and I think it will be Matt.
