Do you like Alan Blunt's facial expression? When he frowned, or eating a biscuit? I think that's funny!

I thought his expressions showed a serious yet awkward man, which was how he was described in the book.

they might have been a little overdone but blunt is suppose to be an unusual character.

i don't think alan blunt was payed very well. he wasn't serious enough and he seemed very awkward. like he didn't know how to handle or talk to a teeager. and most of the things he said was corny or cliched. like in the trailer, "find the truth behind stormbreaker, and you'll find your uncle". or when alex asked what kind of people they were, "ones who usually get their way." i mean, i can understand someone saying that in real life, but that line just doesn't seem to suit
a movie
if you get what i mean . . .
and he looked very dorky . . . lol

but in the books it says serveral times that blunt really doesn't know how to deal with alex and prefers to look at files rather than deal with people

but still, i mean, i get that blunt might be socially challenged, but he should still act professional. he just kept acting awkward and it sounded like he was stumbling over his words . . .

the actor, Bill Nighty, is a good actor. but i dunno if he's read the book or if the producers explained blunt's personality well enough to him to know how to act.

I don't know. Bill Nighy always makes those kinds of gestures when he plays a character so I expected it. I liked it too because it gave Blunt some idiosyncrasies that aren't apparent in the books. Also he needed to give an impression of awkwardness because we can't see Alex's impression of him in the movies like we do in the books.

If you read the description of Blunt in the book he isn't really meant to be comical, he's meant to be serious... So Bill Nighy, despite being a great actor, kinda spoiled it a bit. Shame really... Ah well, funny none-the-less
