Yeah, Yassen is pretty sweet. I didn't think about writing his background before, but I'll consider it now...

I, after looking into the discussion of Yassen's death vs. Alex's (should have been) death, am COMPLETELY CONVINCED that Yassen should NOT have died.
Yeah...I don't even see how Alex didn't die. I heard of someone that was shot in the upper leg (I think?) with a shotgun, he died.
PM the link to the story if you ever write it  grin

I don't really think so, it was one of those Steve Irwin deaths, completely the opposite of what you'd expect. (I know I probobaly ticked off some people there, and I'd just like to say, I love him as much as the next guy, I mean all throughout elementary school I watched his show like, every night  tongue)

yh but the way i thought about it is that alex would have known if yassen was dead in the scorpia book...didnt think of it as a cliffhanger or in another episode

Well, it never confirmed or denied his death, so you never know. Although I think AH intended for him to stay dead, because it said something about him 'closing his eyes, and Alex knew he would never open them again'. But you never know, he intended for Alex to die in Scorpia, but he never specified...

yeh i remember when i read about the closing the eye bit...it was quiet sad...imagine one moment alex is holding yassen at gunpoint...then watching him die, in sorrow(well...if yassen did die)

yassen gregorovitch is the most interesting bad guy i've ever come across! i mean, he's supposed 2 be bad but he's kinda cool! i don't like how he kills 4 a living but what can you do! he's still really cool! he's so confusing though! i don't get him! and how come he can kill ian but not alex? i mean, they're both very close relatives to alex's father! i mean, come on! eather you're willing 2 hurt alex's father or not! make up your mind  rolleyes! i don't get it  huh! but it was sad when he died  cry! he was such a good character! by the way, i heard anthony horrowitz wants to write a whole book dedicated 2 yassen's past! how cool is that?  wink

That part about him killing Ian was something that I'd been wondering for a long time. I really wish that someone could've asked AH about that during that webchat earlier in July this year...

Yassen was (and is still) my favorite character, he is just awesome  grin I like it that he is always calm and down-to-earth, and that he actually 'saves' Alex a few times, instead of always trying to kill him, which is nice for a change.

Anyway, i'm completely shocked that he died (just read that part of Eagle Strike), and i hope the books will still be good without him, but so far i've heard that Scorpia is a realle really good book, so i'm very curious. I was really waiting for him to join the stories in Point Blanc and Skeleton Key, and was disappointed when he wasn't in either one.

Anyway, i would love to read more of his background in the 8th book.  smiley
