I loved Yassan! I was devastated when he died! He played a HUGE role to me. At first, I interpretted it that he was playing along like Alex, (w/ the bullet proof vest and all). But after it, I was traumatized.

I admit, I actually sobbed when he died. But he killed countless people, threw Alex in a bullring and was probably one of the most deadliest assassins in the world, so maybe the world would've been safer without him...
But I still liked him

yeah i'd have to say that it's possible that yassen wasn't wearing a vest because he knows alex won't shoot him. remember when alex was on the rooftop and yassen was with him alex didn't shoot him then.
besides. he's an expert assassin! he's over confident of himself.

Not just that. He knows the life of an assassin is short. Re-read the first chapter and you'll understand. The first chapter was a flashback. He also talked about settling down in St. Petersburg and become something like a policeman.

Oh no I do believe you have that part a bit twisted. Yassen mentioned that when in St. Petersburg he would settle down in a nice house and work for the Russian Mafia again every now and then. Just for fun and to stay in the life he knows. So i do believe that is what he was planning to do when it was all finished. I am being very rude here so I apologize for the rude interuption. Please do continue the conversation.

The book said that he had
contacts
in the police forces! Not that he wanted to become a policeman!!!
In Eagle Strike, it said that Yassen was wanted all over the world. If he went to a police station, they'd recognize him immediately and throw him in Alcatraz...

Oh, c'mon! Yassen a policeman? That's insane!!!
Policemen fight against crime, and Yassen is a killer who doen't care about anything but the money he get's paid (and Alex).
If Yassen ever became a policeman while he was alive I would have puked over him! (which would be dangerous...)

yeah it would be too insane. he is wanted so if he tries that would be the mistake of his life. he'd have to escape from the cops and find a place to hide out

What's really confusing is that in Eagle Strike, it said that Yassen was wanted all over the world, but when Alex mentioned him to the french cops, they didn't have a clue who he was talking about!
