Hmmm...that could be. If you ask be, the new series isn't really an improvement.

My library had Day of the Dragon... But that's it. I wish I could read the others...
I think Raven's Gate was good. Exept it was too short. For me, a book three times the size of that is light reading.

Woah! Madness! The only long book I've been able to read and enjoy is Harry Potter.

I prefer longer books as well.  When they last longer it seems like there is more that can happen, plus the books usually have a thicker plot and are more elaborately written.  But I thought Raven's Gate was a decent size.  If it had been too much longer it might have seemed a little repetative or drawn out.  But that's just my opinion.

It is the first book in the old and out of print Power of Five. I believe that AH never finished the series, and they were crap so he started re-writing them.

I don't know I remember that after reading The Day of the Dragon I figured the story was pretty finished...didn't feel like there was an end missing, most lose ends were tied up, the young boys met all the old wise people that were their ancestors... the Old Ones were pretty much defeated weren't they?  I oughta reread it one of these days, but I'm missing the devil's doorbell and I hate reading a series if I'm missing the first book.  I loved this series though...haven't had a chance to read the new series yet

I was actually surfing the internet in search for the wereabouts of these books... I enjoyed the series a lot when i was like 11-12 years old, they were among my favourite books, but i have only got "de zilveren citadel" and "de dag van de draak" in Dutch (you can probably figure out what those were called originally) but now they don't sell them in any Belgian bookstores anymore... And now I see that Horowitz is actually rewriting the whole thing. Well, if he's actually going to conclude the series after all, that's good, I guess. Have to read this "raven's gate", because I have this nostalgia to my pre-highschool days all over (perhaps the books weren't that great, but I remember them as being great)

Meh the internet can't be trusted.  According to the official website of the belgian publishinghouse of the AH books, the devil's doorbell was still available for sale.  So I ordered it...and two days later i get an email back saying it's been out of stock already for months.  People should update their websites, especially when they're selling stuff over it.  Got all excited and everything, lol.

Anyways, I bought Raven's gate yesterday, along with 2 other AH books.  Only missing 3 more books (I think) and then my Anthony Horowitz Collection will be complete  evil well apart from devill's doorbell and that misha book since they're both out of print... huh

The rest of the original series... you forgot them. I can't find a copy anywhere of Devil's Doorbell. Or any of the other ones.
